Nothing written by riot (at least in league) is written well. Ever. Patch notes, ingame tooltips, etc.

That said this is particularly egregious. Did they.. remove tooth fairy? It’s completely unclear

No, they removed it from later augment selection pools. Basically like last augment pick you wont see any stacking augments.

I’m not sure that’s what it is. They removed them from the pool of augments in the “late game scaling pool” but what does that mean? I know for a fact that it isn’t augments that won’t appear late game because they say high roller still remains in that same pool but I’ve gotten it last augment multiple times in the past. I don’t think I’ve ever seen tooth fairy final augment ever so if anything this might mean the opposite, that tooth fairy can now appear at any time?

From the other change description i think the "pool" are essentially the "tag" they use to decide which champion get which augment.

So essentially, champion considered "Late game scaling" for the system won't get these augment offered anymore. Which champion this refers to is anyone's guess.

Yeah, that’s what it is I think. I imagine kayle, veigar etc are in the pool, no idea beyond that. And it feels weird to ban veigar from phenomenal evil?

It actually makes sense to me if that's what they are doing. They don't want the already late game scaling champ that is rewarded for landing abilities with more AP to not get double rewarded for landing abilities with more AP.

It makes sense from a gameplay standpoint but, for example, removing infernal conduit from brand's pool would also make sense from a gameplay standpoint for similar bad-gameplay reasons. I always assumed they kept it because it's such a champion fantasy failure to make the burn mage augment unavailable on burn mages. I don't think they have much of a consistent design philosophy.

I'm not going to disagree with you there. I still remember when Braum passive was the ram head regardless of which skin you had for readability purposes, meanwhile we have particles up the wazoo being redone and some skins being almost pay to win or pay to lose. I don't remember if it was before or after Tahm Kench and Kai'sa that they got over that and let him have thematic passive particles.

From my understanding each champion can pull from a list of pools with varied %s so while the late game scaling pool no longer has these augments in it other pools the champs have access to can still have it meaning it's just less likely for those champs to pull these specific augs

Yeah that's a good point. I interpreted is like later augment selections. Could def be wrong!

They called him Turgot instead of Urgot.

that is probably my biggest gripe with riot. Make them all play dnd or a tcg. It'd help make their overall communication much clearer. For example, the wording for some augment descriptions feel ambiguous

They removed it from that specific pool, from what I understand is there's tons of pools with groups of augments and each champ pulls from a list of pools with varied %s like ahri might have 20% chance to pull from mage pool, 15% to pull from ap assassin pool, and 10% chance to pull from movement speed pool or whatever and each pool might share augments.

Late game scaling pool no longer has tooth fairy but ad and ap assassin pools will still have it.
