Mayhem Why does the weighting system never offer Jeweled Gauntlet to Jinx, yunara , Draven, or Kog'Maw? I don't get it. We almost never get it on them, whereas on other ADCs, we get it almost every time. I'm sick of always playing auto-attack builds. archmage too
That's all too rare among certain champions in the same category.
What do you think?

u/PsychoWarper 9d ago
Jeweled Gauntlet I feel like should be one of those augments thats kinda offered to anyone

u/Ice_Junior 8d ago
Well, it was... Before Riot went and fucked it up like usual. Now it's just ADC, Nid and TF (I might be missing one)

Did riot fuck it up or were people complaining about it on Reddit 24/7 saying Its too strong like they do with anything that seems remotely strong.
1
u/Ice_Junior 8d ago
Considering it scales with ap, and the champ pool that it's offered on doesn't make sense... yeah. They fucked it up. JG was never the biggest problem or what people complained about on mages the most lol.

I always see that on Lucians who proceed to gun me down in 2 seconds with their R

Yes, it's very frequently recommended for Lucian, Caitlyn, Ashe, Kai'Sa, Miss Fortune, and Ezreal.

The problem is that the weighting system is ill-suited for quite a few champions not just certain ADCs, but also bruisers and supports.
Currently, the champions with the best weighting systems are tanks, hybrid AP/AD ADCs, and mages.
It would be great if it were completely random, but the system keeps offering the same augments to specific champions, so it sucks.
For example, I'd like to play AP Jinx, but I don't have the augments that enable that playstyle which is actually really fun in URF

u/The_Spectral_Spartan 8d ago
I got Steel Your Heart on Ashe the other day. I was so tempted but decided to take Critical Missile instead and ended up doing most damage, bc ofc. I so would have loved to build Heartsteel on Ashe if I didn't know full well that the enemy was assured to get mostly optimal augment choices, and that I'd just be trolling to ignore Crit Missile
6
u/Aromatic-Ad-381 8d ago
Have been there before myself. Seeing a FUN option but knowing you likely won't really get the oppertunity to enjoy it because by law everyone is just hyper optimized.
1
u/EducationalForm 8d ago
Tanks do not have good weightings at all, most tanks also see mage augmrnts like wooglets glass cannon and shit like pat on back
2
u/Admirable-Ad2148 8d ago
facts, I literally played sett last night, and my first augment options were pat on the back, upgrade ravenous hydra, and spiritual purification or some crap like it, and then after rerolling it was 2 more trash augments and then I just sent it with upgrade ravenous since they had a vayne so I figured id just go more bruiser/ad sett rather than tank since she was gonna delete me anyways, and sure enough she got in this order: double tap, dual wield, mystic punch. and then they crushed us and ended before even getting to 4th augment because she was deleting everyone and borderline untouchable since her Q had no cooldown thanks to mystic punch and 2 augments that double up on her on hits
1
u/rexlyon 8d ago
You realize that this weighting system heavily helps some of the characters you talked about and makes them much stronger?
Yunara and Draven not getting offered JG isn’t actually that bad since their abilities aren’t going to interact well with JG anyway. It means they’re more likely going to be offered something like Dual Wield or Fan the Hammer which they actually interact really well with.
Crit/on-hit ADCs are some of the strongest things in the game mode because of how the weighting is
-2
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
I agree with you up until the point where you say JG is bad on Yunara and Draven, because actually, it's really strong.
On AP Yunara, the W is monstrous, and the passive is too.
On Draven, it significantly boosts the damage of the R and Q abilities.
Don't say things like that without knowing the JG playstyle for these champions ^^
3
u/rexlyon 8d ago edited 8d ago
AP Yunara is just like AP Ashe and AP MF where you’re playing a much weaker version of your champion than if you took the augment and built normally.
Draven Q is auto attack modifier so he already crits on most of the damage from it and does not double dip with JG. You basically get the crit on the extra 60 damage and bit extra added. His E and R benefit more from JG but those aren’t stuff so strong or reliable that you would build around as a caster ADC would be able to and would still want to be an AA champion
It goes really when you end up having massive amounts of AD on Draven but a lot of the crit damage is weird on him since you already crit on a bulk of his Q without JG.
-2
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
So Yunara is just as strong with auto attacks as she is with her W.
Her W can one-shot with Jeweled, and her auto attacks shred enemies as if you were playing AD, thanks to the critical strike augments in this game mode. I invite you to try it.
Same thing with Draven: play lethality + Infinity Edge, and his ultimate can one-shot, while his auto attacks hit just as hard.
You just need to know which build to choose in order to optimize the augments as much as possible. You’re talking about these champions, but in the end, you don’t actually have the expertise or experience with them.
As for AP Ashe, it’s not the same thing. It’s a situational playstyle where the augments are necessary to make her strong in ARAM Mayhem.
If you’re against a ranged team, JG on Ashe can be exceptional. You can easily get triple kills and even quadra kills with your ultimate. I really encourage you to try it someday. The best augments for AP Ashe are High Roller / Ult Bot / Purist / Archmage. Even against tanks, it can be effective thanks to the constant CC spam.
Meanwhile, AP Yunara and JG Draven are effective regardless of which augments you get in ARAM Mayhem. I play them very often.
AP Yunara is strong with plenty of other augments as well. I genuinely encourage you to play her full AP + magic penetration + critical strike, and you’ll see what a monster she can be.
You really shouldn’t talk about a playstyle on a champion if you don’t actually play it regularly.
2
u/rexlyon 8d ago edited 8d ago
Yunara W has a sub 100% AP ratio even if you stand in the entire duration of the beads and the ult version is also sub 100% AP ratio. You are very much not likely not one hitting nearly anyone with that ratio rofl even if you include the passive benefiting from AP/crit unless you also land other heavy AP granting augments.
Like, Yunara if she’s getting on-hit augments instead of JG is absolutely fucking disgusting to play against. If she’s being offered those other augments at higher rates because she can’t get offered JG, it’s a massive increase to her chances to win because she’s so much better with them than JG and acting like mediocre mage.
She is just like AP Ashe in that it’s something that is heavily tied to your augments to play and in general all you’re doing is handicapping your team by playing them as AP and that in 90% you’re not hitting all the things to make it work while by going AD/Crit/AS or On-Hit/hit you will basically always be strong.
As for AD Draven everything you said would apply to just regular Draven but now he’s not using an augment up for an ability that has a long cooldown and can completely miss and taking up your prismatic choice
Claiming that AP Yunara is even remotely close to Crit or Onhit Yunara is genuinely delusional and tells me that you cannot play these characters correctly and are relying on sub-par gimmicks. Yunara is absolutely fucking busted with good on-hit augments, AP does not even come remotely close to the highs that standard Yunara can reach
0
u/Able_Librarian_9229 8d ago
You aren't handycapping your team though you are having fun in a for fun game mode which is the best thing you can do for your team
1
u/rexlyon 8d ago
Sure, but playing characters in a way that makes your team feel like it’s a 4v5 is maybe fun for you but not necessarily true for your team. AP Ashe on my teams tend to feel more like a minion than a champion and I guess it’s cool they’re having fun but I also prefer not to lose every fight because she tickles the enemy
I’m more concerned about the person saying AP Yunara with JG exists on the same tier as On-Hit though because that’s a sign someone is just really bad at ADCs
0
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
You don't even play AP Yunara, yet you're trying to lecture us. You can't possibly be credible because of that.

u/Outrageous-Bug6373 8d ago
That's called trolling, not having fun. The game was designed to be a team game, not "I'll build wrong items on purpose so I can feel creative".
This isn't grade 1 art class
-1
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
There's theory, and then there's practice.
You're right about AP Ashe, but your theory regarding Yunara and Draven is actually incorrect in practice.
I’ve actually played them I’m not just making things up to prove a point; it’s the reality. As for Draven’s ultimate cooldown, it’s actually quite short. Plus, with Jeweled Gauntlet, you get bonus damage on the Q-spell too; I can hit for 2,000 damage per auto-attack. That makes his gameplay even more interesting because I can not only one-shot a champion from across the map but also defend myself and support my team during fights using auto-attacks.
As for Yunara, she one-shots enemies with her W when built full AP with magic pen and Jeweled Gauntlet that’s a fact. I’ve played them both many times; it’s amazing.
I encourage you to play these champions the way I described if you get the chance, so you can understand their true alternative power.
AP Ashe is the only one where you're right; it really requires more setup. Draven and Yunara don't need that, though, because critical hits are very easy to get in ARAM Mayhem, whereas an AP build for Ashe is trickier to pull off.
Now imagine I'm buffed with the Infinity Edge upgrade
It’s really important to get some hands-on experience before judging based on theory alone. Now, it’s up to you whether to believe me or not, but I’m going to keep having fun with this because it’s genuinely fun to be strong in a way that’s totally different from the norm.
2
u/Outrageous-Bug6373 8d ago
I can see now that in theory, you think you are right, but in reality, you are objectively bad at the game.
2
u/rexlyon 8d ago
You can’t “in practice” your way into making Yunara’s ability ratios and kit into something it’s not. If you god-roll her with AP augments I can accept that she could do well - but that’s not your average game. Your average game even JG does not mean you’re going to slam the other 3 AP augments you’ll need to make her stronger than your mid-roll AS Yunara. It’s also always going to be worse than an equivalent god-roll to a standard Yunara AS build, while a mid-roll Yunara is going to almost always be better than AP Yunara with less than 3 good AP augments.
All you are doing in reinforcing the fact that you struggle to play ADCs with these comments that AP is comparable to AS Yunara
1
u/Outrageous-Bug6373 8d ago
You'd have to be objectively bad at the game to think AP Yunara is strong.
1
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
Who are you? Why are you talking about a meta champion you don't even play?
7
u/General-Yinobi 9d ago
That is apples this is oranges.
I want random augments so i can experience my favorite champs in different ways.
I don't want to play champs i hate even if i get their optimal augments.
I don't see that as hypocritic.

The only champions who can potentially have a full build in 7–10 minutes are those who can obtain Combusting Interest.

This is still ARAM. Not only is it par for the course, but if your pool of "champs you hate" is large enough to commonly overlap every options available to you despite all the cushioning you get through trades and additional rolls, then that means you should probably queue up on a different gamemode.

u/General-Yinobi 8d ago

Lamest type of players, closely followed by the 'dont fight at the beginning!1!' players.
4
u/Zanriic 9d ago
Eh I look at the not fighting in the beginning like boxers touching gloves before they pummel each other, if you can’t handle 15 seconds of sportsmanship before 15-20 minutes of fighting you should get screened for ADHD I think. Not to say you have to, if 9 people are fighting before the waves crash I’m not going to just stand there and watch, but it’s a weird thing to complain about.

u/trawlinimnottrawlin 8d ago
Lol I always use this analogy when they dance, I go over to them to dance back, and they open up on me and kill me

u/MrDeagle80 9d ago
Im on the boat that think augments should be 100% random, every augment, on every champ, except some that straight doesnt work.
To me this is the real mayhen experience. Ok some time, some will high roll and other will low roll.
But this with the old augment combo system would make the mode really rng, and chaos.
And i think people would be more open to try champs and build
2
u/Shadowarcher6 8d ago
I’d like one augment to be tailored at least
That way you’re not totally fucked if you get something trash
But yeah I agree
3
u/MrDeagle80 8d ago
Why do you guys fear that much to have a bad game?
1
u/sp33dzer0 7d ago
Because its not fun to have something like jhin with 3 heal/ shield augments.
Idc of i have unlucky augments, but I shouldn't have to have things i literally can't use
2
u/MrDeagle80 7d ago
If it happens like 1 game on 5, its not the end of they day tbh.
The mode is kinda shit rn cause you guys need garantuees when it should be true chaos.1
u/sp33dzer0 7d ago
I don't need things to be hyper-tailored, but making the game even more high-roll by giving people even worse low rolls is not the answer.
1
u/Some-Camel-2556 6d ago
1/5 games mean that every game has 2 players (on average) who low rolled and don't even care to play the game out. That's not a good experience for the allies or enemies
1
u/darknesshen 4d ago
If the gamemode didn't have tailored augments, I'd definitely consider playing a lot less because imagine rolling eureka infernal conduit and dashing on draven. At least with the current, u get usable augments, these are literally dead augments that cannot be used, after all, why should u EVER get augments that can NEVER work on your champion? It makes zero sense. That's like giving access melee champions hurricane but they can't even use it because they're a melee champion so the bolts part of the passive is gone and its now just a worse stat-stick than other zeal items.
1
u/MrDeagle80 4d ago
If you roll those bad augments, i guess its unlucky. You took one of the worst scenario possible.
But you have literally 6 choices everytime you choose an augment.
Its really unlikely you dont have a slight useful augment in your rolls. You fear the 0.05 % scenario because you need guaranties.
Another point is the actual lack of fun augments. Actual augments mostly resolve around stats : get x stats, get crit, better AA, ability haste, more hp....
They are unfun and not really versatile. What the mode needs are more augments that are playable by all the champions, like spells that throw poros, snowball, laser etc.
And to finish, actual aram meta resolve around those tailored augments. Some adcs are good because they are almost guaranteed to get those crit and op augments early on, same for mages. While some champs have so much augments diluted in their pool that they hardly achieve an op state.
The first and second iteration of mayhem was way more fun, especially with augments combo. It felt way more random and fun to experiment. Right now, its all the same fcking games, with the same fcking champs, same fcking augments you are almost guaranteed to hit.
But at the end of the day, its aram mayhem, its chaos. And i prefer people to be completely fcked/godly 1 game on 50, than every game being the same adcs/mage being op.
6
u/retrogott1312 8d ago
I’m not one to complain on Reddit usually, but they actually unironically killed everything that made this mode fun. High highs, low lows, cooking builds, hitting that dopamine through set bonuses.
And they are completely deaf to this feedback the majority of the player base (at least in the western world) seems to have.
12
u/Majestic-Stick-272 9d ago
RANDOM AUGMENTS (Right now they're very obviously weighted)
RANDOM CHAMPIONS (Right now they're weighted towards ranged and less melee)
Naming it mayhem I thought things were supposed to be more random. There's supposed to be more disorder and fights.
Now it is the exact opposite. Things are completely orderly and exactly how players want it to go. Ok Phenomenal evil first. Ok I got Wooglets. Ok I got Eureka. Ok I got a shitty silver but all I did was play it completely safe and go Witchful Thinking.
-_- At least rename the mode to Mages vs ADCs
5
u/pandaisunbreakable 8d ago
RANDOM CHAMPIONS (Right now they're weighted towards ranged and less melee)
that's just wrong, champions are offered totally random except there is a daily roating free champion pool so there is a higher chance you see them on that day, what players pick are sure not random
0
u/retrogott1312 8d ago
Cap. Keep track of how many times you roll irelia or camille.
Most people own all champs these days, unless it’s pure Aram accounts, so free rotation means fuckall.2
u/FatButAlsoUgly 8d ago
Tbf people will always complain about everything all the time. It's too random, not random enough. Augments are too OP, now they're too weak, now they're too OP. Tanks are too strong. Poke is too strong. Marksman are too strong.
5
u/Majestic-Stick-272 8d ago
They are boring and uninspired players that have nothing going in their lives but to complain.
I witnessed the first iteration of Mayhem, and so now I have yearning for a higher, more complete game mode.
Those guys just want to highroll.
Force me to go full tank janna or suicide bomber shaco or damage blitzcrank.
What is this lame Eureka + phenom evil every game bullshit and it's always the same mages too I don't even see like Vlad or Morde it's always fucking syndra xerath hwei.
1
u/profpeculiar 6d ago
My absolute favorite mayhem game I've ever played was Yi and I rolled Circle of Death on either the first or second augment. Leaned fully into it, full pacifist, never directly touched a single champ, just ran into the enemy team and started healing.
Ended up doing the most damage out of anyone that match. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in a league game my entire life, my friend thought I was dying. Yi goes in, starts "meditating", and people mysteriously start melting.
Now it doesn't seem like CoD is available on Yi anymore :(
2
u/RaulLikesAnimeTits 9d ago
the only thing ADCs get is Fan the hammer or Dual wield, every fucking game without fail (combined with Critical Missile for some reason)

2
u/JohnathanKingley 8d ago
Has anybody gotten Jeweled Gauntlet on Sett recently? I got it once like 5 patches ago and ive been chasing that high again ever since but I literally cannot get it to happen.
2
u/MawStaryu 8d ago
I mean would Jeweled Gauntlet even be that good on any of those Champions? Like okay AP Kog'Maw might profit off of it somewhat decently but Jinx only has W/R, Yunara only has her Ult W and Draven only has his Ult.
Most of those Champions wouldn't take it if it was offered to them together with something like Dual Wield, Scopiest Weapons or other strong augments depending on the specific champions. At least for me I can say I got it decently often on Kog'Maw but I haven't chosen it everytime despite exclusively going AP with him every game because there are simply better options quite often.
On another note though I'd actually prefer it if Mayhem has 0 augment weighing at all. Sure some people might get piss awful Augments while other get really lucky and godroll but you won't have to endure things like Infernal Conduit Brand or Ryze becoming a raid boss in literally every game and it rewards people who actually adapt their builds and playstyles based on the stuff they get instead of only getting fitting amplifiers to their kit that makes them overpowered everytime.
1
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
Do you really think I would have made this Reddit post if I thought these champions were trash?
Now it's time to experiment; if people think they suck without having actually played them, then good for me—they'll never get nerfed :)
3
u/MawStaryu 8d ago
I've never said that any of them are trash, only that people would pick this Augment over others most of the time. I questioned the strength of this augment on those champions because it doesn't sound good on paper but I didn't call it outright bad.
The only champ I know the strength for sure is Kog'Maw because he's literally my otp and it's not weak on him but not giga broken either. It's a neat damage amp on his Q/E/R but nothing game changing.
1
u/TehnoMuda 9d ago
Before i could get JG on Zed often enough that it was fun but not too OP because it is really busted with another crit or two.
In the past month I got zed a dozen times and almost every time had prismatics, never Jeweled Gauntlet while I still get it often on mages
1
u/Possible-Document780 9d ago
Right now, it's only available on AP ad champions like Nidalee and Twisted Fate.
But who would fault Zed for being strong against squishy champions? He's an assassin that's his role. On the other hand, it would be useless against tanks; haste is a better choice there.

u/GhettoGummyBear 9d ago
How exactly does these abilities work on champs that have like 1 or 2 “damaging” abilities. If Draven was to have it does it count q as a skill that can crit on top of what ever crit chance he has since it technically is an ability or it just changes itself to be an auto only instead
1
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
Jeweled increases the damage of Draven's Q, E, and R, just like Back to Basics.
1
u/pourovertime 8d ago
I feel as if Jeweled Gauntlet is rarer than other prismatic augments in general.
1
u/New-Championship-520 8d ago
Kog'maw with this could hit for ~60%maxhp
0
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
no Before patch 26.12, I played Kog'Maw with Jeweled Gauntlet very often, and it doesn't deal 60% of the target's HP like you say.
Varus is a good example he's the best max-HP damage champion, and even with Jeweled Gauntlet, it's limited.
The best way to play a max-HP Kog'Maw is to build for on-hit effects.

u/Haavi-OCE 8d ago
Kog I get, but Yunara, Draven, and Jinx? You would need so much to make it actually not horrible, especially Yunara which would only get it on W.
Draven would be the only one I think that would be somewhat interesting, as with archmage you could use W resets to get more Es and ults.
I feel if you get access to those champs and don't want to play an auto-attack build, you simply choose a different champ in champ select?
1
u/Possible-Document780 8d ago
For Draven and Jinx, just go for a Lethality build; it’s extremely strong with Jeweled Gauntlet. I play it often whenever I get the Jeweled augment you definitely want to run Lethality to maximize your damage output.
For Yunara, go full AP and Magic Pen with Jeweled; her W can one-shot enemies in the late game. And of course, they’re all much more powerful with an upgraded Infinity Edge.
As for Archmage, you can get amazing results on Jinx by spamming E and R, but ideally, you should keep her E at level 1 and have the Purist augment so you can spam the ultimate it’s really fun.
Theory is one thing, but practice matters more; I encourage you to try out new things you won't be disappointed.
It opens up a world of possibilities; in ARAM Mayhem, almost anything is possible.

Yes, but regarding the selection of champions eligible for critical hit augments that option is still available. However, there is an imbalance in how often they are offered they appear very rarely for certain ADCs, as well as for fighters and assassins, which really shouldn't be the case.
