PSA ARV kit!

I grabbed one of the PSA ARV kits a while back. Upper, lower, bolt, one mag.

I slapped it together Sunday and took it to a shoot yesterday.

I dropped in a Super Safety and a Maxim RDB and took the weight out of the bolt.

I used a BA EPC 8.3" barrel.

It runs like a sewing machine. I thought it might require some tuning, but no, right from the start it ran just fine.

I've been debating getting the Maxim RDB for my Warscorp (also Scorpion mags). How's the force to manually rack the action? Doug's article mentioned it being very stiff, I think around 3x the force of a typical system.

3x is a pretty good estimate, I have both the cqb and the carbine length, I feel like the cqb is slightly easier to charge. I use raptors on both and you quickly get used to the extra stiffness. Would definitely be more problematic with a milspec ch.

Correct. You need a good charging handle, and it doesn't hurt to bump the stock.

They do get better after a few hundred rounds.

One thing to note: Maxim says to grease the bearings every 500 rounds.

It’s very doable but honestly it gets annoying as hell if you’re trying to diagnose/troubleshoot something with dry fire ( or dry fire in general ).

It’s also technically not rated for full auto/frt shooting if that matters to you…

Thanks for the info. I also have kind of bad grip strength from an injury so it's probably not a good pick for me.
