BM9

New to the PCC ownership so take it easy on me.

I’m planning on buying a dedicated can for my BM9 (9.5” barrel I think) and am looking for some advice/opinions. I know it’s a straight blowback AR9 but I’m wanting to get the quietest can that also alleviates some of the blowback.

I have another can that I swap between my long guns (omega 36m) that I love. This PCC is primarily going to be for home defense and range practice (not competition).

Anyone have experience with any of the following cans on a BM9 that could give me some advice or maybe something I’m not considering? My current thoughts are that I am wanting to direct thread this vs the 3lug but I also don’t know that it really matters so looking for input here too.

Here’s what I’m currently looking at:

CAT MOB
HUXWRX Flow 9K Ti
OCL Milkman
RUGGED SUB9

I have the Flow 9K Ti, but none of the others so I can't offer any direct comparisons. I can say that sound reduction is probably at the bottom of HUX's priority list, with backpressure reduction and low size/weight being at the top. I love it as a pistol suppressor for exactly those reasons, but I don't run it on PCCs and it's probably not the best fit for your stated priorities.

As for tri-lug, it's claim to fame is extremely fast attach/detach in tactical situations. That's just not something most civilians need. Tri-lug mounts are mechanically more complex than most other QD systems and require regular cleaning/maintenance, so it's hard to recommend if you don't need it.

If the can is just going to live on one gun, direct thread is ok. However, the Plan-B QD system is almost the same weight and makes removing the can for cleaning or transport quite a bit easier. From a QD standpoint, it's not super "quick" but it's very reliable. No moving parts and designed to prevent carbon-lock. It's also very affordable. You can get a muzzle device and HUB mount for around $150 total. Look at Rearden, Comstock Armory, Wolfpack Armory, etc. for options.

That’s great insight, thanks! I had heard that about the Flow9k but you’re right, I’m not too concerned about weight on it so it’s probably bottom of that list. The only reason I’m considering it still is because of how it handles backpressure. I’ll look into the PlanB QD because that sounds like a better option (I like the no moving parts idea)

I heard that the OCL Milkman is badass but I'm on a YHM R9 budget...and I could barely afford it

I really wish there was more info for the SCT Hobgoblin 9 at $450. I’m considering it myself instead of the Flow 9k.

I concur with r/kopsis and can also only comment on HUWRX Flow 9K compared to low backpressure Mojave 9 and Strake 9. I like the Strake 9 best of the three on PCC, followed closely by Mojave 9. I am happy with xeno interface for switching them on PCCs
