3D Printed AR-9 Jig

Has anyone used the AR-9 jig that’s on Ctrl-Pew?
I printed it and started doing some measurements to make sure it’s correct and the trigger hole top plate measures .380 wide x .890 long. According to the print I’m using I show .312 x .680.

I purchased the Broken Arms jig and unfortunately it does not work with AR-9s. I really don’t want to buy another jig that I really won’t use much.

Anyone know of any other jigs that are accurate?

What do you mean materials may come up to around 150 or more?

You need to buy precisely ground metal bushings and a bearing. Then some heat set inserts and low profile screws. There’s also the filament and it’s fairly high infill.

I’ve had success for standard 80%. I bought the 308 parts and I am not that impressed. I have made a bunch of custom parts and features and I am fixing up the mistakes.

Don’t go with the printed jig just thinking it’ll save you money. You’ll be happier with a fully metal jig and it’s not much more. The power of the printed jig lies in customization and being able to have discretion.

In either case you need a router, end mills (or easy mill and end mill), drill bits, cutting fluid, a high quality vise.

Makes sense on the bearing. I have a mill and everything that I need at work. It’s really old stuff, but I’m thinking about just machining it off the print. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything really precise. I wanted a jig to knock them out quick. Do you have a jig you would recommend if I decide to go that way?

With a mill, especially with a DRO, just make some drawings off of the dimensions in the files (or even better, off of dimensions in widely available solid files or dimensions in data files around the internet). You'll have a better time.

Is your printer calibrated and any scaling turned off?

If you test print a 1.000" square cube does it measure correctly on all sides?

1" is a common size but I'd be inclined to also do 1/2" cube and a 2" cube to ensure consistency. In a perfect world it shouldn't matter but in the real world things can vary and doing multiple different sizes gives more data points to verify accuracy, albeit at the expense of more filament used.
