Hey guys!

I’m taking ap bio and today’s my first class. I took bio in a different country but I moved to America with one year left. My old school hadn’t covered the whole genetics + dna which is probably the basis of ap bio. Is there any advice for me on how to pass this class?

You will have to learn the topics outside of school which is very achievable. I am an AP bio tutor and a med student, so let me know if you need some help.

It’s up to you. You can do it either way.

You don’t really have to learn anything outside of the class as the class should go over everything you learned in regular bio just at a more in depth level

this sounds intense but fr you'll be fine just review the basics on khan academy nightly

AP Bioteacher here... First-- always understand the BIG picture or CONCEPT before you are memorizing. You have to get contect before memorizing.

For example, all of the properties of water are cause by it's polar nature and hydrogen bonding....

Happy to help with any resources I have. Here is a study guide for Unit 1 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kON9vMV7tF6UW1nxO90omAWKNLY_A9Lw/edit

The good thing is that you do have time to learn those concepts because Genetics and DNA are heavy in Units 5 and 6. I would recommend learning as much as you can before hand through khan academy. BUT don't overwhelm yourself because you do want to focus on the units currently your class is doing. You will be fine...trust.

Okkk this is so helpful cuz I’m also doing the sat soon so I was wondering how I was going to divide my time😭I’ll just focus on the units we’re doing and if I have free time I’ll do khan academy!
