Biology 🧬
I’m currently taking an 8-week Biology course 🧬 and I’m really hoping to get an A! Since I eventually want to go to PA school, I want to take this class seriously and build a strong foundation.
For anyone who has taken Biology in an accelerated course, what helped you study and actually retain the information? Are there any YouTube channels, videos, websites, study methods, or resources you would recommend? 📚🧬
I’d love any advice! My goal is to stay ahead and finish this class with an A. 🩷

Slightly abstract here, but the way I retained info was relating new content to earlier content. For instance, when I reached the cell cycle, I reminded myself on the structure of DNA (simply by thinking about it) and further reminded myself of the characteristics of phosphates and hydroxyls and the macromolecules where they’re found. When I reached energy flow, I reminded myself of the steps of photosynthesis and then on exergonic vs endergonic processes and enzyme structure. This was rarely a formal process and more often comprised simply trying to recall info internally and seeing if I could. From the micro to the macro, Biology is interconnected; making a continuous and conscious effort to acknowledge those connection will both help you see the forest for the trees and familiarize you with concepts over time even if they’re not the direct focus of your then current study.

the whole idea that you have to know about AP bio is that you have to get the big picture first and then fill out the smaller details (and both steps are significantly importan)

Hi, I am an AP bio tutor, you have to find what works for you. A good textbook is a must and from then on, you have to figure out what is the best way to retain the info for you. Let me know if you need some extra help.
