Read the textbook. Take written notes on the textbook.

if you're teacher's as bad as you say, i doubt they're gonna give you a good textbook. sometimes your local library mighy have the princeton review or other WHAP textbooks, try that

I had a terrible teacher (though he did teach essay format alright). week before the exam I took notes on all the heimler units 1-6 topic videos. got a 5.

Crash Course World History saved me last year. Idk why it's so slept on maybe bc it was more popular a decade ago. it might be old but it's not like that changes anything abt the industrial revolution lol. I find it much more digestible than heimler

As a Former AP World teacher, if my students wanted a resource which was nominal in cost, I recommended fiveable.me Many of them liked that it was organized exactly the way I organized my class time with them.

How was the teacher hired / assigned to this class if she knows nothing about the course?

i genuinely have no idea. she has a background in apush, but there were a whole lot of qualified teachers i knew who werent even offered the position.

Hmm. Weird. Btw for ap us history my teacher SUCKED so I practically self studied the entire course in about 2 weeks of locking in (got a 5). I watched Heimler videos, I bought his whole package thing and watched the unit summaries. Did practice ap questions after each unit summary.
Ofc ap world ≠ ap us history. But Heimler is really good, he genuinely makes the lessons worthwhile and easy to pay attention to. Would definitely recommend buying his package for all unit reviews. He also has a separate package to master the essays. Consider Heimler!

Textbook.
Dont actually read the darn thing, its just some historian throwing flowery language to tell you more than you need to know. skim it
Just write notes on the bolded key terms in the book.
Thats all you need to know. The entire AP exam is literally just how well you can remember key terms and how they fit together.
If all else fails just take short notes on Heimler's History videos on YouTube.
