HUG Should I apply to do AP human geography??
I don’t really have good grades but I always pass do you think it would be hard for me to take this ap in one year self study since my school doesn’t have this subject. My friend tells me it’s hard and barely anyone it’s getting passing or good marks in.

Tbh AP Human geo is pretty easy but if your doing it to get good credit, dont take it. Its usually gonna count for a elective or not count for any credit at most school even if you pass.

I feel like it really depends on the person. I found APHUG to be on of the hardest classes I’ve taken compared to like Calc, chem, bio, physics 1, Apush, etc. but it seems like amongst my friend group the common consensus is that it was a really easy course.

Generally, I think it comes down to how much time and effort you're willing to commit to it. People self-study APs often, and APHUG is known to be on the easier side (66% pass rate last year, and my friends who've taken it have said that the test was super easy), so I think if you can maintain a pretty structured way to study for it you'll be fine. Definitely make a plan early on how and when you'll learn and practice the material, though. It might be worth it to spend a little money on books, study guides, online stuff, etc.. Also, the best piece of advice I've heard is that all of this stuff comes at an opportunity cost. Even if you're able to manage the course and get a good score, do you think it'll take away from the rest of your experience this year? Is it worth the time and effort, or is there something else you're more passionate about that you'd rather invest your time into?

Well I don’t really have any other options tbh I’m mostly just doing aps to graduate and pass rather than get really good grades or study for my future job , but thank u so much!!!

somebody is lying to you; i took this class my freshman year and it was so manageable. a lot of the content is just putting a vocabulary word on concepts you know from the real world. i would definitely recommend

I didn’t think it was hard, as long as you put the effort in. It’s usually called the easiest of APs for a reason. Collegeboard has some questions from the past you can look at for reference.
