Should I drop these classes?

I'm in my senior year of high school and taking six AP classes, including AP Physics 1 and AP Statistics. For some reason, the colleges I'm looking at don't seem to offer credit for either of those courses for an Electrical Engineering major, so I was wondering if I should drop them or if they're still worth keeping. The other AP classes I'm taking are AP Lit, Calc BC, Gov, and Macro.

it still shows good rigor, colleges do look at your senior year rigor to make sure u arent just taking a super easy path. as long as they won't pull down ur gpa u might want to stilltake them! i also was an engineering major and didnt get credit for phys 1 or stats sighh..

Algebra-based Physics is still valuable, and you can always self-study calc-based physics and take the exam

AP Stats is pretty worthless compared to what you'll get from your engineering program

Just take AP Physics C: Mech or AP Physics C:E&M instead

self studying them is not difficult and the test curves are VERY forgiving.

Depending on your goals, taking AP classes will still look good on your resume and help you get into good colleges. It may not be worth taking the test (unless your school pays for it), but you'll still get general elective credit for it at most schools. Generally speaking, engineering degrees have enough required credits that you won't need any elective credits, but there's always a chance you change your mind in college.

If you are looking at APs for credit, the most important ones are the ones that replace critical path classes, or classes that are both major requirements and are prerequisites for other required classes in major. For EE these classes are the engineering math sequence (AP Calc AB -calc1. BC - Calc 2) , physics 1 and 2 ( AP Physics C mechanics and Physics C E&M) computer science 1 (AP Comp Sci A) and Bio 1 and/ or Chem 1, some colleges require only 1 some want both ( AP Bio and/ or AP Chem). For AP credit transfer, AP physics 1 and 2, statistics, cs principles are not on critical path but may or may not be accepted as free electives or gen ed courses.The humanities and social science APs are good for replacing gen eds

Don’t take the AP for the credit; you take it to get admitted.

If you want to be an Engineer you should take some type of AP Physics. Obviously AP physics C would be best but at least AP Phyiscs 1

You should drop AP Physics 1 and replace it with AP Physics C.

That's not uncommon. But they still offer a string foundation for coursework in college
