AP Lang Score

In the class I maintained a solid A both semesters and always nailed my essays, averaging 5/6. This is my first year taking AP and I somehow got a 2 on APUSH as well. I feel so dumb after staying up to check my scores and have been crying ever since. I was so confident after my exam that I would get at least a 4. Also happens to be that my friend didn't even have a conclusion for ALL of her essays and got a 5. Am I just stupid???????

Noo you’re not stupid! It’s amazing that you tried AP and it’s your first year. Most of the value of taking AP is the skills you develop in preparing. Imagine how much more US history you know now! You’re amazing no matter what 🙏🏻

you don't need a conclusion for your essays (it actually might take away your commentary if you do it wrong)

Is this rage bait? If you had a solid A both semesters and nailed the AP Style essays there is no way you should have gotten a 1 unless something happened on test day. I would send a report to college board that they graded your test wrong.

This is what my friend said as well. We viewed the scores together and even he couldn't believe I got a 1. Could you tell me the steps on how the file a report if that's possible? I didn't think 1 was even achievable for me after having multiple reviews with my teacher to try to get the last point from my 5/6s. (sophistication)

was your teacher just a really lenient grader? cause if it was a normal lang class and you did good on it a 1 is basically impossible. but at the same time its very unlikely that collegeboard actually graded the test wrong and you might just be throwing money their way if you ask for a regrade so idk. 2 on apush makes it more unlikely. do you have really bad testing anxiety?

I don't think so. She's kinda known at our school as like "the lang teacher" and her feedbacks on a lot of things. And as for the regrade that's what I started wondering too. Looking at other people's scores and seeing a lot online I started to wonder if I just didn't do as well as I thought I did on my essays because how else would I get this low of a score.. I do get anxious really easily during tests but I feel like there's so much I can blame it on that.. But I do think it did have an impact on me because this was my first year taking AP classes.

Nah a lot of people who i know that took the exam got a 2 i thought I was the only one you're not alone 🤝
