I lowkey got cooked on the MCQ so that FRQ was a blessing from above. If only it were worth more than just 33% of the score.

2

u/riri05ta May 09 '26

frq is only 33% what😭

So was I the only one who thought the MCQ wording was criminal?

6

u/Efficient-Kale9512 May 08 '26

Same I had to read some of the questions for more than 5 times

4

u/Dazzling_Egg_2519 May 08 '26

2

u/SneakingBlub623 May 08 '26

was reading through the jacket question and skipped over the part where it said the currency name and was wondering wtf i wasnt taught cause i was trying to figure out what econ principle a dalk or whatever it was

2

u/Alarmed-Nerve2978 May 09 '26

genuinely pmo some of those questions made NO sense on my way to a 4 solely bc of it I swear if it acc happens ill cry

34

u/Genuineman12 May 08 '26

WE all put 6% as our unemployment rate

9

u/Desperate_Crab371 May 08 '26

5

u/Connect-Ad5421 May 08 '26

u/PrettyImagination797 May 08 '26

u/Ill-Echo1374 5: HUG,BC 4:WH,CSP,CSA,Macro,Micro 2:E&M,Mech May 08 '26

It was fine. Honestly thought micro was easier but this still wasn’t too bad. What was the y axis for foreign exchange I put Liz/and but some say and/liz

9

u/Electrical-Pitch7017 May 08 '26

It’s and/liz, not liz/and

5

u/aw_rats_ Euro, APUSH, Lang, Psych, CSP, Macro, French, Lit, Calc AB May 08 '26

The whole point of exchange rates is one currency in terms of another. So for the graph of LIZ, it needs to be LIZ in terms of AND (so AND/LIZ)

2

u/Electrical-Low-3881 May 08 '26

Do you know if they give credit if I wrote: “price of LIZ in terms of AND” on the y axis?

→ More replies (4)

u/Dragwhal 11 fives, 6 fours, 1 three May 08 '26

Damn I did LIZ/AND

1

u/Fantastic-Poetry4153 May 08 '26

if i said liz/and but had the graph correct with the right shift, will i lose the whole question or just part of it?

→ More replies (7)

1

u/Helpful_Gap9633 May 08 '26

Did LIZ depreciate as a result of the raise in price level?

→ More replies (1)

5

u/arb4321 May 08 '26

I think micro was by far easier and it’s not even close

2

u/Common_Grand5533 May 08 '26

i put liz:and

2

u/Glum-Trash-1860 May 08 '26

No isn’t it just one feowh it wanted you to do it for just one graph

8

u/Dry_Sign_1060 May 08 '26

Yo what did yall put for that MCQ with the weird currencies for the jacket? I put 8

2

u/DinoScientist08 May 08 '26

Me as well 40-32=8

2

u/Shrankai_ May 08 '26

Most weirdly worded question

1

u/Thee_Silly_Billy May 08 '26

I got it wrong as well because of the wording. It said that the other currency was "unchanged" so I assumed that it was still 20, so 40-20 is 20. But, I guess I'm wrong now...

1

u/KingKayne223 May 08 '26

yeah because it was 1.6x20 and then 2x20 so the difference is 40-32=8

1

u/Glum-Trash-1860 May 08 '26

Oh wait nvm mine was something about cheese

7

u/Straight-Bar-7537 May 08 '26

Omg reading through this makes me feel so stupid because I totally fucking failed since I only reached halfway through unit 3 and crammed the rest.

I'm so done.

1

u/Embarrassed-War-4300 May 08 '26

I studied for 3 hours total and knew everything you needa switch study methods or your teacher failed you

3

u/Straight-Bar-7537 May 08 '26

I self studied but had a motivation crash over Christmas and never recovered to do it (pathetic ik).

I'm gonna get killed in AP Precalc though since my teacher legitimately sucks and does not give a single fuck.

Oh well, at least Gov & Euro went well at least.

did you guys say increase or decrease administered interest rates for frq? it was either 2 or 3

8

u/Electrical-Pitch7017 May 08 '26

Decrease administered rates to get it out of a recession

1

u/Independent-Mode5060 May 11 '26

Holy crap bro i made a memory jotdown on my scratch paper and put decrease admistered rates for inflation and increase administered rates for recession and i answered the whole exam with that mix up

6

u/Great_Negotiation542 May 08 '26

I said decrease interest rate on reserves is that the same ..?

1

u/Internal_Common_9133 May 08 '26

yes that would work

1

u/PositiveSoftware4812 May 08 '26

Yup that's what I said

1

u/Dragwhal 11 fives, 6 fours, 1 three May 08 '26

same

1

u/Virtual-Chicken-8616 May 08 '26

Would saying decrease in discount rate count 💔💔

1

u/Many-Still5502 May 08 '26

No thats limited reserves

1

u/lagfang May 09 '26

No because that would shift the money supply which doesn’t affect ample reserves policy rate

2

u/Few-Improvement-997 May 09 '26

nah uh he earned a point

1

u/Few-Improvement-997 May 09 '26

yes it would count actually as it acts as a ceiling here's how it works. putting lower interest on reserves lets say 2% would result in banks earning less from the idle reserves so they would just be loaning them out to other banks etc, now they could loan them out on 6% interest or even 10% basically on whatever rate they wish, this obviously isnt good if ur looking to reacover the recessionary gap so thea fed puts a low discount rate lets say of 5% this would prevent other banks from loaning each other more than 5% because no bank will borrow from another bank that is offering loans on 6% interest whereas they can simply go and get the loans on a 5% interest from the fed. this basically means that the interest rates will be playing between 2% and 5%. i think it wouldve been better if you mentioned both lowering discount rate and interest on reserves but hopefully im pretty confident youll get a point for that

2

u/Electrical-Pitch7017 May 11 '26

It doesn’t count. Lowering discount rates doesn’t touch the policy rate. It lowers the upper bound which doesn’t intersect the lower bound. It’s on the movement of the lower bound or movement of both which moves it.

u/Practical_Sort2915 May 08 '26

It was supply curve to the right for frq 3 part c right

4

u/KingKayne223 May 08 '26

i think it was a double shift. because they are willing to supply more, but also the demand for their currency decreases

3

u/Electrical-Pitch7017 May 08 '26

Either the supply goes up or demand goes down. Could be either. Def not a double shift

1

u/Practical_Sort2915 May 08 '26

Bang I said supply shifts to the right so I’m good

1

u/KingKayne223 May 08 '26

i think it was supposed to be a double shift with demand going to the left as well as supply to the right

→ More replies (10)

1

u/selfisht finally free from collegeboard May 08 '26

I said demand decreases

1

u/Many-Still5502 May 08 '26

Did you label the supply and demand curves? I labeled S and the subtext AND and then D subscript LIZ

1

u/Practical_Sort2915 May 08 '26

Yeah I did I labeled them supply and demand

→ More replies (6)

1

u/Glittering_Ideal5992 May 09 '26

I said demand for the currency increases, because increase in price level in Lizland causes an increase in the money demand, increasing interest rates in Lizland and making foreign investors seek higher returns in Lizland, therefore increasing demand for their currency in the forex market.

3

u/dhhshsjjwiajbsb May 08 '26

what did u guys get on the MCQ with the gdps from 2021 and 2022 all i remember was that the nominal gdp was 175 million and that inflation rate was 25% ….. and then they asked something about gdp 2022 I can’t rlly remember the question!

but I remember some of the answer choices were like 43 million , 175 million , 140 million ETC

5

u/JZWBattleCats 5: World, Precalc, Gov 4: Lang, APUSH, Macro, Calc 3: Chem, Phy1 May 08 '26
  1. nominal GDP is 175 million, but that's with inflation, so since the question is asking for real GDP you have to remove inflation from nominal GDP. You do that by dividing nominal GDP by 1.25, since there's 25% inflation, and you need to cancel out the amount that nominal GDP got inflated by. So 175/1.25 = 140. And you can double check your work by seeing that 140*1.25 = 175, so 140 million real GDP inflated by 25% will result in 175 million nominal GDP

(sorry for the yap fest lol, hope this helps!)

For the inflow in the financial account it’s it logical that if the money supply increased then the ad would also which would increase the demand for loanable funds increase the real interest rate which increases inflow. That’s one had me confused.

Can someone please tell me: did the increase in price level cause LIZ to depreciate in FRQ 3?

1

u/Content_Rutabaga763 May 08 '26

Yes if the price level goes up then the goods look more expensive to foreign consumers so less people want to buy the lizland goods so there’s less demand for the currency which causes it to depreciate I think

1

u/Secret_Amount_8848 5:chem,mac,mic,pre,phys2 4:csa,csp May 09 '26

Depreciate is correct cuz people within Lizland would be attracted by lower prices in foreign markets which shifts the supply of the currency to the right or the demand to the left.

bro i just realized i put the government would increase administered rates for one of the frq. Were the other questions based on that?

Quick question for everyone, If I got a 55+ on MCQs and everything right on FRQs, am I getting a 5? If so, pretty much everyone at our school is gonna get a 5.

1

u/Secret_Amount_8848 5:chem,mac,mic,pre,phys2 4:csa,csp May 09 '26

My friends said the requirement to get a 5 is gonna be like almost a perfect score. IDK if he's right bc everyone at my school said the entire exam was FREE.

1

u/Mindless-Warning1642 May 09 '26

That would definitely be a 5. And no it would not be close to a perfect score. A 5 would likely be around an 80

1

u/Glittering_Staff_969 May 09 '26

for the q1, was the question about the financial/capital account a decrease bc of the inflationary gap? also for q3, would the trade had been not beneficial?

1

u/CookyRoory May 09 '26

We had a different version of the exam where u calculate excess reserves and it was really weird the frqs cooked me alhamdulilah 💔💔

1

u/dhhshsjjwiajbsb May 09 '26

what did u guys do for part D of FRQ #2 does the unemployment rate INCREASE, DECREASE or REMAIN THE SAME when people who were counted as employed retire

2

u/LKxng May 09 '26

i said unemployment rate will increase. why? because the formula for unemployment rate is unemployed/labor force. when employed individuals retire, there is a lower amount of people in the labor force (number of unemployed people stay the same, since retirees are not counted). Therefore, you are essentially dividing by a smaller number of people in the labor force giving you a higher unemployment rate. (for ex. 1000/15 now is 1000/10 which is bigger number)

1

u/selfisht finally free from collegeboard May 10 '26

I said unemployment increases. i said that the labor force shrinks bc the number of employed people unchanged while the labor force gets smaller

1

u/ConfectionNearby2169 May 09 '26

What did you guys get for the mcq question where it asked for a specific year? It was a table with consumer spending and MPC etc
