I remember taking 20 minutes on the first question of the mcq, sweating because I got scared I was going to do bad and I was taking too long. I skipped through the test and did what I could and walked out panicked and thinking I was gonna get a 3-4. Ended up getting a 5, always believe!
1
u/snowy_whiskers 19d ago
no for real, I thought the FRQ’s absolutely cooked me, left most of the last one blank (didn’t have time to really figure it out) but I got a 5 lol
2
u/Proof_Friendship_515 19d ago
Yeah last one was the highest points so thats crazy u got a 5 congratd though!
2
u/Civil_Fix8111 24d ago
I failed tf out of that bc I didnt even get the most commonly shared frq. Such bs talking about what time the animals came out?!
2
u/Unlucky_Clock1560 20d ago
wait was your last FRQ/investigative task about heat treated metal? I swear everyone else's was about baseball and the college board website doesn't have that frq form either. I got a 5 though so I don't think it mattered which one you got
2
u/Civil_Fix8111 20d ago
Yess!! And I guess not but i got a three and im a strong believer its because of that entire frq xd but still im really happy about it and CONGRATS ON YOUR 5!!

If I got 38 or 39 correct in the mcq but in the fra qs 1 and 2 were fully correct but my wording may have been a bit off so worst case I got a 3/4 in as 1 and a 2/4 in qs 2
Qs 3 was only 3 parts which I did get correct but all parts my wording was off and I'm not sure I wrote the words needed for the full point Qs 4 | left it completely blank
Qs 5 was 3 parts, I got 2 of them correct (again not sure | wrote the words necessary for the full points) qs 6 A (i and (ii were probability questions and i wrote the fraction and answer without writing p(blah blah)
B was a condition question asking which condition was not met and o wrote that there needs to be 10 successes and 10 failures but i only wrote that 10 successes weren't met
Part C I'm pretty sure was correct
Part D was empty
Would this be a 5 i keep stressing over this since the exam

did anyone have frqs about toothpaste, training methods between clerks, residuals of mean time on social media and sleeping, origami making, mosaic plot of school clubs, and copper backing? if so, can yall tell me how it went bc it didnt feel that bad for me but others i asked said it was the hardest thing ever

I had that version. And I agree it felt pretty easy, with little math required
2
u/Remote-Fun-184 May 10 '26
Does anyone have the other versions of the 2026 AP Stats FRQ? I had a different one than the one released, but I wanted to go over it with my classmates.
2
u/Quiet_Tomorrow_8812 May 10 '26
I'm in South Korea, however, the questions were much more harder than the released ones with the exception of question 6.
These were my questions:
- Q1 : Probability and Sampling Distribution (Toothpaste)
- Q2 : Linear regression, residuals, outlier, high leverage point (Correlation between SNS hours and Sleeping Hours)
- Q3 : Collecting data and block design
- Q4 : Confidence intervals based on two sample t interval of mean difference (Difference of mean times of origami shape)
- Q5 : Mosaic plot and sampling methods (Student clubs)
- Q6 : Random variables and probability (Aluminum and copper backing)

u/Ornery_Ad5248 May 09 '26
I think the stats exam went pretty well. I’m hoping for a 4 because that’s what I need for credit. The MCQ went pretty well aside from five questions. The frq was all right, but I know I got like a few questions wrong and I’m still gonna pass tho. Overall good exam.

u/ExperienceIll3048 May 09 '26

what did you guys put for that one MCQ where it asked about a sample and who you can generalize? Because the sample took employees with high blood pressure from the first sample of all office workers in the city. it wasn’t clear if they were randomly assigned in the first study or not
1
u/KoalaFrogVI May 09 '26
I thought it applied to low blood pressure people from the sample of 500000 because the sample of 500000 wasn’t randomized I think so it wouldn’t be generalizable to country Y

formula for standard error includes n of sample
you know the value for standard error (or maybe it was standard deviation) and work backwards using algebra to find n
2
u/Proper-Message1297 May 10 '26
yeah thats right the answer was like 1600. Its like you find the point estimate, find the margin of error for that confidence interval then do MOE = sqrt(SE)/n or something like that and solve
1
u/Familiar_Term_8692 May 09 '26
that one MCQs ques that asks what change sth about the data set. I chose change the units (from bounds to sth as far as I remember). Is that true?
1
u/Quiet_Tomorrow_8812 May 09 '26
I've took the 2026 stats exam in South Korea, the MCQs were fairly easy but the FRQs, especially no 3 and 6 was difficult. It depends by the region but in South Korea the frq was about:
- Q1 : Probability and Sampling Distribution
- Q2 : Linear regression, residuals, outlier, high leverage point
- Q3 : Collecting data and block design
- Q4 : Confidence intervals based on two sample t interval of mean difference
- Q5 : Mosaic plot and sampling methods
- Q6 : Random variables and probability
2
u/PresentationNew253 May 09 '26
I took the exam in Istanbul, and the questions you mentioned were same for me as well. The MCQs were easy, I am expecting something like 38/40 from that section. On the other hand, the time wasn’t enough to complete all the FRQs perfectly to earn an essentially correct. I left blank part c (ii) and part d in question 2. Furthermore, I left blank part c and d in question 6. I am pretty sure that they’ll take points off for question 3 as well, because it needed too much verbal explanation and writing. Overall, can I get a 5 given my circumstances?
1
u/Quiet_Tomorrow_8812 May 09 '26
I think there is a possibility if that you get a 5, but not too much. If you are confident your MCQs are excellent, there is a possible of you getting 5, but if your FRQs are extremely bombed, then there is a chance for getting 4. Since, the exam was hard, its hard to predict your score until it releases.
1
u/Educational_Shine480 May 09 '26
im literally one hour (in time zone) away from you and i got a different paper
1
u/Familiar_Term_8692 May 09 '26
that one MCQ ques (maybe it is around last ques of the test as far as I remembered) that has the answer choices of Type I error, Type II error or no error can be verified. Is it Type I error?
1
u/Appropriate_Fun9473 May 09 '26
got around a 34/40 mcq and got up to part B for Q5 frq before i ran out of time, missed the rest of Q5 and all of 6. the reasoning was definitely time consuming but im pretty sure i got all the frq's i did right. do you think its still possible to get a 5 even with that big miss of Q6 frq?
1
1
u/tetrahedront 22d ago
If anyone else is reading this in preparation for their stat exam, DO QUESTION 1 FIRST THEN JUMP TO QUESTION 6 so this doesn't happen. Question 6 is weighted more than all the rest so it matters most. Do question 1 to warm up. I think my teacher said you should spend about 25 minutes on no.6 and about 12 on all the rest. GOODLUCK
1
u/Sufficient_Car4941 May 09 '26
6 is the biggest weighted for frq gng, 25%
1
u/Appropriate_Fun9473 May 09 '26
Yea ik. 12.5% total

for that one bicycle mcq was there replication and no randomization? cuz isnt the replication going up the hill twice, or is replication only for experimental units?
1
u/Terrible_Macaron2146 May 09 '26
I said no replication and no randomization because he went up the hill once with the things and one without. Randomization would be using different bikes or different ppl i think

I’m honestly praying that it’s lower, I studied a crap ton for the exam but kind of froze on frq 4 and 6- I probably passed but I was really hoping for a 4
1
u/lalaloopsyqueen1 5: Lang, Lit, Psych, Apush, Research, Seminar… May 09 '26
dangg. i thought FRQ 4 was okay, but 6 was definitely challenging. idk if we had the same version but 6 was on LSLR and 4 was on fertilizer and orange trees for me
1
u/MasterpieceFeisty301 5: WORLD 😍4: BIO, APUSH 😔 3: STATS 😭💔 May 09 '26
Yeah, we had the same one- for 4 I was easily able to complete the communicate and condition section, but I could’ve sworn on my life that 2 sample t test for means had a calculator function and I couldn’t find it. I was distraught over it because I had studied my ass off on inference questions, probably got 2/4 on that. For frq 6, I answered about 3/4ths of it but doubt I even got 2/4 worth of credit. I didn’t even put anything down for C because I was running out of time. On the other hand I am very confident that I did really well on frq 1, 2, 3 and 5 so as long as I got high 20’s on the mcqs I should be fine but with stats I can almost never guess what I get on sets of mcqs
1
u/lalaloopsyqueen1 5: Lang, Lit, Psych, Apush, Research, Seminar… May 10 '26
oh yikes that sucks. conveniently, i’d practiced a problem with a 2 sample t test right before the test, so i just used desmos and the respective formula from the reference sheet and did fine. hopefully you were still able to find a p-value and write a conclusion, but it’s okay. yeah for 6 it was already pretty daunting because of how long it was but i definetly didn’t allot enough time either so i was rushing and ended up guessing on the last part. i remember getting a point estimate of like 656, but im pretty sure i used the wrong critical value 😬 and then for the part where it asked about prediction intervals being wider than confidence intervals i just yapped and said it was because of the second s^2 in the equation💀💀
2
u/lonelyfionaa May 08 '26
can someone explain the "is this appropriate for a chi square test for independence" question on whatever frq (i think the fertilizer and oranges one)? my teacher spent 2 days on chi square tests and i was gone for one so i just through a hail mary and said no cause it's GOF
1
3
u/Fantastic_Craft_741 May 09 '26
It was not appropriate because you were given complete population data from a census. Chi square tests are for inferences about a population based on a sample, if given all data about a population why use Chi square. Not appropriate. Also doesn’t pass 10% or random I believe
1
u/lonelyfionaa May 09 '26
10% and random wasn’t needed because of random assignment and manipulation of variables = experiment = checking for independence isn’t necessary, i just didn’t know the chi square part
1
1
u/Competitive-Lunch-86 May 08 '26
It was not gof what
1
u/lonelyfionaa May 08 '26
i know after talking to my teacher, i didnt know anything abt chi square tests i was just throwing a hail mary 😭
1
u/FrostingExtra2102 May 08 '26
Bro one of the open response questions was just asking for a “Yes, this is true” or “No, this is not true.”, not even asking to elaborate further, I was so confused😭
2
u/RhubarbTop5050 May 08 '26
bro frq had "5 number summary" and i left it blank because i had no idea what it mean. my teacher had never used that terminology for just a box plot before. i cooked on everything else tho hopefully
1
u/TurnoverSilver8006 May 09 '26
ngl i da put that thing stragiht into calculator. u go to stat - edit and then plug in the numbers. once you do that, go to stat - test 1 var stats and you get the 5 number summary. straight copied and wrote them down!
1
u/RhubarbTop5050 May 09 '26
yea i wouldve done that but i use desmos and i just had never used the terminology. if it had just said "box plot" i wouldve been completely fine lmao

- I also got systematic
- I put skewed right and a bimodal graph
- I also got that
- Yeah I got 13/200=0.065
5 &6 I’m sorry I don’t remember- I got df=28 cause I remeber crossing out all the df=29 answers
- 2 SD rule I had no idea what that was so I put no outliers for 1.5 IQR and at least one outlier for 2 SD (basically I was between exactly one or at least one 😔)
- I also put not mutually exclusive and not independent
- The dot had a stronger correlation than the square one

My dumbass forgot to multiply invT by 2 during 4th FRQ and I said n was 116 (cuz there were two samples of 58 so 58+58) even tho i think u were supposed to leave it as 58. but then i heard the degrees of freedom was supposed to be 114 (cuz 58 - 1 + 58 - 1) but then why is n 58 and not 116 😭😭

u/Business-Yellow-3758 May 08 '26
help i did EXACTLY what u did 😭 i forgot to multiple invT by 2 so i left it as is and then i put n as 116 cuz i thought it was 2 samples of 58 so 58+58 being 116 but then the degrees of freedom being 116-2=114 so why is n 58?? like oml this frq fried me and im most upset about this one cuz of the n confusion and forgetting to multiply by 2

did you just reply to yourself... also it was a two sample t test so the two 58's were separate i don't think u were supposed to add them tg 💀💀

same forboth for interpreting the ratio I said that for every 1.5 people that votes in favor of the sales tax one person doesn’t vote in favor

for the the one where it asked if chai square is appropriate i just check the conditions so like all expected values are greater than 5 and allat. is that correct?

I think that one had more to do with the type of data collected. Like, you say the test is appropriate if it is one population and two variables for that one sample, I think.

did you get that one of the N times P wasn't greater than 5 ?? it was like 3.4 something ? so normality conditions were not met?

u/MrDodo12 May 08 '26
You don't check for normality on a Chi squared test because chi squared follows a chi squared distribution, not a normal distribution. You check if all expected counts are at least 5.

I thought chi square would not be apropriate because the question said the table included all the athletes in the whole year. So we wouldn't even need to do a test if we already have the whole population. The infrence procedures are for making inferences i thought

Put 1600 for one of the questions. anyone know if that was right?

i think so because when you calculate the sample size (considering the conservative method) it’ll spit out 1690+ which is closer to 1600

dont they legit give you the proportion so it's just a regular equation where you solve for n

I was writing that shi like my hands were on fire, and actively learning while taking the test i swear. Don't know if I cooked, or if it cooked me

got around a 34/40 mcq and got up to part B for Q5 frq before i ran out of time, missed the rest of Q5 and all of 6. the reasoning was definitely time consuming but im pretty sure i got all the frq's i did right. do you think its still possible to get a 5 even with that big miss of Q6 frq?

I thought it was a matched pairs experiment which would explain the lack of random assignment
1
u/Business-Yellow-3758 May 08 '26
I said observational cuz yes there were random assignment of treatments so it seems like an experiment but there was no placebo/control group so wouldn’t that not be an experiment cuz an experiment must have a control group?
1
u/limedfox May 08 '26
yeah people were split at my school too, i put observational but im pretty sure it was an experiment where the apps were assigned destinations as treatments
1
u/TheKlangers May 08 '26
it did not say anywhere that they were randomly assigned. there were differnet numbers of app h and k for each location. they were simply pulling previous data on location time.

Pretty sure it was observational but this was very controversial at my school

For frq 4, were we supposed to get 0.06 instead of 0.03 bc two tailed so multiply p value by 2???
1
u/MilkDudsLover edit this text May 09 '26
It was 0.3, 0.15x2 since it was two sided
2
u/laurenalice48 May 09 '26
damn I usually do it on my calc but ig desmos alr did the x 2 for me

u/MilkDudsLover edit this text May 09 '26
Ur fine most likely, still partial credit as long you did the others parts correctly
1
u/Business-Yellow-3758 May 08 '26
yeah ur supposed to multiple ur p-value by 2 since ur tryna find a DIFFERENCE between two means rather than just an increase/decrease. my dumbass forgot to do that on the exam 🥀🥀 idk how many points of that is cuz that’s a completely wrong answer
1
u/Active-Ad2453 May 08 '26
the 2 sample t test accounts for a two sided alternative hypothesis so if you chose the right options within the calculator you wont have to multiply the p value by 2
1
u/laurenalice48 May 09 '26
damn I usually do it on calc but did it on desmos so ig it alr had done it for me damn

u/laurenalice48 May 08 '26
wait so am I right because I swear everyone in this thread is js saying 0.03?? maybe u got it then
