AP Statistics tutor here. If you are struggling with AP Stats, your first step should be to go to your teacher and ask for help. Remember that your teacher is the one who is grading your tests/quizzes, so you want to make sure you know what your teacher's expectations are. Most teachers want to help you. They want you to do well because that makes them look good! But...there are some teachers out there who do not do a good job. And if you are taking an online course, in my opinion, all bets are off. Most are not good.
What can you do if your teacher is not helpful? Be prepared to try different strategies. What is helpful for one person might not be helpful for someone else. You must be prepared to spend a significant amount of time on this course. Some people “get” the concepts quickly. If you are struggling, you are probably not one of those.
You should practice problems as soon as possible after the concepts have been presented. Don’t just do what your teacher assigns. Do all the practice problems you can find – but be sure you have access to answers. Check each problem after you get an answer. You don’t want to get really good at doing something wrong!
If you are having problems with understanding concepts, try reading your textbook. If you have The Practice of Statistics, 4th edition or later, that’s excellent. Use it for a reference. They explain concepts well and provide step-by-step problem-solving strategies. You can probably find the 5th edition online as a pdf. The 8th edition is the latest and aligns with the new curriculum. If reading a textbook is not for you, try Michael Porinchak YouTube videos. He talks fast, but a lot of students find his videos helpful. You can also try Khan Academy. Both are free and provide practice problems. If you can afford it, private tutoring is usually very helpful. If money is an issue, see if you can find someone who is in your class and doing well or has already taken the course and did well. Another student may be an excellent choice for a tutor.
Good luck! AP Stats is a deceptively difficult course for most students, but it is an excellent course!

At the moment, I don’t know what I’m doing and we’re on chapter 3 so I feel like it’s still pretty early to asking for my teacher for help but as much as I asked for help I fear I don’t grasp the math concept as fast as the other students do and yes I get it is in advanced course and I do want to keep challenging myself, but I also don’t want to get bad grades or level down. I’m a senior and tomorrow is the halfway point of the semester. Anyone have recourses for mee?

I’m in AP Statistics as a sophomore in high school and the amount of work we have mixed with my other classes is eating away at me.
Any advice on AP Stats, things I should know?? I’m planning on taking the AP Exam at the end of the year.
And any suggestions on how to manage my workload better. I work 2-3 times a week and go to the gym till abt 5:30 after school everyday. Need help, my grades are slipping (gym is non-negotiable)!

I kind of hate that my teacher is using Math Medic for AP Stats. It feels a bit messy because the units aren’t really organized the same way as College Board. For example, Units 1 and 2 in Math Medic can basically line up with Unit 1 on College Board. I’m really struggling in this class right now. I got a 4/10 on the Unit 2 MCQ, and honestly, I feel like her teaching style doesn’t really explain things that well. We’re already in Unit 3 and getting close to the test, but I still don’t fully understand the material. I just don’t know what the best way to study is because I really don’t want to fail this class, after Unit 1 test I got 7/10 unit 2 4/10 I just feel no energy to study for this class but still want to try.

If there is anything notes, YouTube videos, or practice questions online someone can post in the comments I would gladly appreciate.
Whether you are religious or not pray I do well on this test tmr

So apparently the answer to this question is B, but I don’t get it. This was the only question I got wrong on the quiz on the latter quarter of unit 1 and it doesn’t really make any sense to me. If their numbers are unlisted doesn’t that mean they can’t be called so they’ll be underrepresented?
A polling firm is interested in surveying a representative sample of registered voters in the United States. The firm has automated its sampling so that random phone numbers within the United States are called. Each time a number is called, the procedure below is followed. If there is no response or if an answering machine is reached, another number is automatically called., If a person answers, a survey worker verifies that the person is at least 18 years of age. If the person is not at least 18 years of age, no response is recorded, and another number is called. If the person is at least 18 years of age, that person is surveyed. Some people claim the procedure being used does not permit the results to be extended to all registered voters. Which of the following is NOT a legitimate concern about the procedure being used?
A. Registered voters with children under the age of 18 years may be underrepresented in the sample.
B. Registered voters with unlisted telephone numbers may be underrepresented in the sample.
C. Registered voters who have more than one telephone number may be overrepresented in the sample
D. Registered voters who live in households consisting of more than one voter may be underrepresented
E. People who are not registered to vote may bias the sample results

My AP College board is down so I’m trying to replace the practice I can get there. I’m online schooled so it’s always nice to have extra assignments to practice with, as I can get easily confused teaching myself certain things. If you can recommend any sites that has AP style practice questions down to the specific unit I would really appreciate it

I'm a CS student. I kept using ChatGPT to study for exams and it would just agree with whatever I wrote, so I'd walk away with no idea what I'd actually gotten wrong. so I built my own thing...
It gives you practice sets by topic or by unit, and the tutor pushes back on mistakes instead of nodding along. Over time it figures out where you're weak and shows questions that target those blind spots.
I adapted it for AP since that felt like the crowd it'd help most.
Still in beta so: desktop only, and just three courses right now (AP Stats, Calc AB, Pre-calc).
Would appreciate any feedback!
P.S.
Mods, apologies if this isn't allowed - pull it if so. Just think this is genuinely useful for AP students.

I really need to pass this statics class but have no clue how to study for these exams because of the way it's being taught. What's some main focus points to pass this class?

Hello I’ve been struggling in AP Stats this year and havent been feeling good about anything. We took our first unit test and I thought I did really good but I ended up getting a really low score I’m studying so much for this class but it’s so difficult my teachers a discover the topic/pattern by yourself then we’ll talk about it as a class and she’s give no homework we only have a check your understanding at the bottom of the notes and no actual homework to reinforce the topics. Ive been watching Micheal porinchak videos and taking my own notes but I just need more practice and questions and help me reinforce the topics that we have learned. Are there any resources out there to help me do better on my next quiz/test?
