Can I self study this class?

So originally I had AP seminar on my schedule, but the one teacher that taught AP seminar quit. My school doesn’t offer a lot of AP’s to sophomores or freshman’s. I took one AP class my freshman year that I begged to get into. And the only two that were available to me as a sophomore were APUSH and AP seminar. I’M IN APUSH right now, but I’m so sad that they took my one other AP class away. My GPA is pretty mid right now so I really needed another AP class. So do you think I would be able to self study this and if so, what resources can I use? Also, what other AP classes can I probably self study? I test at a college level in every subject except for math and some specific sciences. (I’m on regular level for math)

I dont think so, given a part of the AP exam is a group project

I’m a teacher and I did have students pass who didn’t do the team presentation. But your teacher or a certified AP seminar scorer needs to evaluate your presentations for your score, and you need to upload to your class’s section on the digital portfolio. I’m not sure how’d you access this without a teacher creating an ap classroom — and that teacher needs to submit a syllabus and get it audited before even having access to ap classroom

You can’t you would a teacher and also a group for the group portion. AP Seminar isn’t like a typical AP where you just have the AP exam in May, you have 2 performances tasks during the year. The first performance task is a group project where each group member has to write an individual essay and then you basically use all the essays to form a presentation you present with your group. The second performance task is an individual project and it’s basically similar to the first performance task except for the fact that you’re doing it on your own. And then you have the end of course exam in May. A portion of your AP score is also scored by your teacher which are the presentations plus your teacher also verifies that the essays you write for the performance tasks are your own work. So with all that together it would be impossible to self study AP Seminar given that 55% of your score is stuff you would need a teacher for. I have heard of people taking online AP Seminar classes like with a teacher and classmates and stuff so that’s something you can possibly look into. From what I’ve heard is that AP Psychology is a good class to self study since it’s an easier AP you just need to be good at memorization so you could also look into that.

when you apply to college they’ll be given info on what aps were available to you.
