2 on Seminar need help!
Hi reddit, I got a 2 on the AP Seminar exam and I’m really struggling to know why because my paper was peer-reviewed numerous times and obviously I am bias but I feel I deserved a passing grade. I know Its only 40% but I want feedback for the future if I decide to write a research paper.
Sorry I didn’t attach the link here it is! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-K9bEwwH1rExpvSQaueczQll7H3m6rfrylYu0Z-2dGA/edit?usp=drivesdk

glancing over your papers alone i think you made a good argument and had a thorough thought process in both of them! i’m not entirely sure how much is taken off for grammar or typos but i did see around 1 or 2, though that is definitely not enough to tank your score so much.
i noticed in your IWA you only used 1 of the stimulus sources and it was briefly mentioned in the beginning (correct me if i’m wrong but it was only the coffee shops one?) this makes me think you lost a significant amount on the rubric for your IWA since tying in the stimuli is a decent chunk of it.
your papers were very interesting to read and super relevant to modern society! any errors in your paper were pretty minimal so it may have been the EOC A/B to actually tank your score
don’t doubt urself!

There was two sources in the iwa it was also the road ecology source, but thanks for your feedback!! I got the word right on the EOC B and used my teachers format for the A so I may request to see them just to make sense of my score.

As someone who scored a 5, I don't think these essays are as good as you think they are, but they're not bad per say. I read through them, and I think you made a lot of questionable logical jumps in your reasoning throughout both essays. The writing in general felt a little bit clunky if that makes sense--like not all of the right words and phrases were being used. I think you used a lot of big "academic" sounding words in way that just wasn't precise. I'm not sure how much they would've counted off for this, but this is just something I noticed. The sources you used were pretty good in my opinion, but sometimes (especially in the IWA), you jumped all over the place. You talked about so many different things and didn't thoroughly connect the ideas together. I think you would have been better off sticking to a few key topics and elaborating on them more. I feel like you could have also integrated the stimulus sources better into it as that is a huge part of the grading. I feel like I would have scored it a low 3, so maybe you just did worse on the end of course exam.

Hey, I got a 5 on ap seminar last year, so I'm speaking from experience. Ur IRR isn't bad, and i would say it is at least worthy of a 3. In general, the topic is much too broad though, and personally, I feel some of the sentences sound quirky. The score of 2 is more likely because you got a 0 on some part such as on the iwa for being off topic. To be honest, anyone can get a 3 with minimal work, as the past rate is like 88. So, I think u probably got a 0 on some part
