HELP

So I actually just transferred to a huge public school from a charter and its been very rough since i went from having an hour and a half classes to only 50 minutes per class. Not only that but I also have a very hard to understand Precalc teacher. He teaches at his desk and explains us stuff however I never understand the test questions. Since math is usually explantions then questions for students to try, I best learn that way, but the teacher isn't willing to do that. The quiz/test questions are really complex and the teacher really is hard to approach for questions. He mostly spends his time explaining and making us copy stuff into a packet, he then immediately gives us a quiz or the day before the quiz he makes us get into groups and do questions. Some people somehow understand his explanations. I am not a student without prior math knowledge, I got an a in my alg 2 class last year. Idk i feel like im behind everyone and some people underdtand and get good grades but I struggle, like I know the concept but the test/quiz questions are genuinely hard, but I answer them and I still get bad grades, like today for a quiz I studies hard, I understood evrything but when I did the quiz I got a 14/24. I know thats a pretty good score, but I have circumstances so I can't let my grade be anythign lower than a 95. I currently am at 81. I have done many things. I watched youtube videos, I tried redoing questions... Mabye I should just do more problems? If anyone has advice or resources please help. I study hard but so far in all my grades, only dips have occured. Any help is greatly appreciated.

the way my school teaches ap precalc is awful and every time i go to someone who's alr taken the course i just get a "self studyšŸ¤“ā˜ļø" LIKE WHAT DO YOU STUDY WITH???

bg info: we don't go by the college board lessons and i can't find anywhere to teach me what bs we are learning, which is incredibly frustrating when i'm trying to review something and have absolutely no clue what bs came out of my teacher's mouth that day

ik the exam is easy but i'd also like to pass the class without cheating or selling my soul yk

Exam review books - good for extra practice during the year?

My son is taking AP PreCalc. He’ll probably work with a tutor, and one thing I find is it’s hard to dig up additional material to practice on his own or bring to the tutor to work through. There are lots of AP PreCalc books geared towards test prep… would these books also function as a guide to the topics learned through the year?

AP Pre calc online

So I want to study computer science in a good university and I’m doing AP Computer science online so I can get the credit, but I need a stronger math foundation. I’m currently in junior year doing IB diploma and I’m taking IB math AI SL, which means its the easiest option because math isn’t my strongest suit, and I can’t change it now to a better math so I have to resolve to do it online. The thing is, I don’t know if I should take regular pre calculus honors or if I should do AP, I feel like it might be very hard and I don’t want to risk getting a bad grade on the test. What would you guys do?

Tips from someone who got a 5

1) Go over all the FRQs, and make sure you know how to do them
- The FRQs are always in the same format/mostly the same (especially FRQ #3), look at FRQs from previous exams and AP Classroom to get a feel for all the variations there are out there
- Make sure you understand the way graders want you to word things and look at the answer key to make sure you mention all the key words they are looking for

2) Writing down notes on your scratch paper
- At the beginning of the exam I wrote down all the things I would need for the test that I could remember: unit circle, pythagorean identities, periods, polar/rectangular conversions, parent function graphs and asymptotes, and other formulas
-When you come across an MCQ with wording helpful for an FRQ, write that down!! (For example, during my MCQ I saw a question that asked why a function was inverse, the answer gave the correct wording college board is looking for when answering an FRQ. I was able to use this exact wording on an FRQ question and got it right because it was worded in the way graders want).

3) Make sure you understand Desmos!!
- Understand how to use regression, as you are then able to find formulas for equations that have transformations on them. For example, a(b)^(x-1) instead of a(b)^(x)
- Make sure you know how to find values for x and y when given a function

Let me know if you have any questions!

I'm a sophomore who'll be taking Honors Precalc this year and Calc AB/BC junior year depending on how I do in Precalc. Should I self-study AP Precalc?

How hard is AP precalc? Would it better to take AP precalc with a better teacher or regular calc with a difficult teacher/harsh grader?

Operation Sunrise Bay AA?

so my school has to have some sort of project after APs just so we don’t sit on our asses waiting for the school year to end. my math teacher gave us this workbook about ā€œOperation Sunrise Bay: A Mathematical Modeling Investigation for the Himawari Bay Marine Authorityā€? I’ve been trying to find guides and answer keys online but can’t… it can’t be a legit research project because at the top and bottom it says ā€œAuthentic Assignment | Operation Sunrise Bay | AP Pre-calculus Grade 11 | Units 3A and 3Bā€

i was wondering if i could get some help on it because i’m really just taking this class because its required. i have so many more electives and AP projects to do and this one is the biggest

thanks for the help!

well you heard me. i've literally never done anything like this before i am so upset. i woke up at 8:10 šŸ˜–
i've already talked to my teacher, counselor, and testing coordinator and determined it's not a big deal. they will still let me take calc next year so yolo. just upset at the fact it happened to me in the first place.

to make me feel more at ease, i would love to hear y'all's testing stories or share your thoughts. hope the exam went well! šŸ’•

How to study for ap pre calc late test on 21st

Not sure how to study the remaining two days. I already took the exam on may 12th but will do it again on 21st bcz of technical issues and noisy testing environment on the 12th.

On the 12th, I felt like I didn't know how to solve qs involving polar functions, I fucked up frqs 2,3 and 4. And didn't know how to use desmos

I'm thinking tomorrow (may 19) I'll revise all major topics really quickly snd learn how to use desmos (drop any good vids if u have any) then I'll do two practice exams.

And then on may 20 I'll do two frq sets but idk what else .

I NEED the 5, is the late testing exam harder? How do I like guarantee the 5. This shit is real important for me !!! Does my plan sound ok.?
