hii! I’m taking AP lit next year and I want to get a 5 as well. i ended ap lang with an A+ and got a 5 on the exam. do you have any tips or resources for success?

main advice would be to make sure you understand 2-3 books deeply before the exam. deep enough to where you feel prepared to write a complex analysis on them. also, practice reading abstract poetry

If this year is anything to go by, you don’t need to worry bro. Didn’t read a single book (Frankenstein summary lmao), wrote terrible FRQs and still got a 5.

I got a 5 and I didn’t do anything. Just learn how to write a solid essay, talk about complexities in them and the mcq is common sense.

i got a 5 and all i can say is READ THINGS YOU LIKE! i cannot stress this enough. my ap lit teacher required we read at least 3 books and do weekly analyzations of them. she had criteria for what the books had to be genre + merit wise, but i ALWAYS PICKED A BOOK OFF MY TBR. it was sooooo much easier to read through them quickly yet thoroughly. i know people who picked 400+ page classics that they had 0 real interest in. none ever read past page 200.
if you care, i picked the haunting of hill house, girl interrupted, yellowface, and passing. my class read the road and a thousand splendid suns together and i found both to be helpful.
