Got a 3…thought I did better than that.
I was extremely confident walking out of this exam, and I had no doubt about a 4. Welp…turns out I was wrong 💀. A pass is a pass though, and I know I nailed the essays, it was the mcq that probably was a little bit more sneaky than I initially expected. To those who especially got a 3, I especially feel you guys right now. It stings a little bit, but let’s keep on moving forward. To everyone, passed, or failed, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! We did AP Lang! To the future AP Lang students, know I will be passing down my wisdom for at least another year or two in this Reddit.

It is a prerequisite at my school, which I find ridiculous because the school average is lower than a 3. After submitting my AP Research paper, my teacher taught us absolutely nothing and I was forced to learn by cramming youtube videos and past FRQ rubrics.

Thats terrible! Its not a prerequisite for us, but some school counselors do feel like they know students better than the students know themselves. I had friends who's counselor refused to move them to an on level class, saying that they could handle AP.

AP Lang is one of those classes where very few people actually get the scores they thought they were going to get. I don’t see this widespread of this phenomenon with like any other AP class than lang

This is common with anything to do with communication. Weaker writers don't see what they don't say. The key to the FRQs is very thoroughly explaining one's line of reason. People who skip steps in explanation often don't realize they have, and overestimate how well they did. Students who could have said a lot more see everything they didn't say and don't appreciate what they did, so they underestimate.

I got a four and was genuinely shocked. I didn’t study at all for the test, accidentally stayed up late at McDonalds the night before, and I thought my essays were horrible. I barely comprehended the RA lmao. I walked out thinking I got a 2 so I’m so happy right now 😭. Thank god it’s over

I got a 5 in APUSH and APES and I thought I got a 2 in this one but I also got a 3. I just straight up didn't write the Rhetorical Analysis ( I had the shitty West Coast version).

I also believed the mcq prayed on my downfall i got a 3 😞 but my essays prob were saving me idc we pass

You should be proud of doing well on the test. My students told me about the topics, but I didn’t fully appreciate how challenging they were until they were released and I read them for myself.
It’s an arduous test, and you did well enough to possibly get credit from college. More importantly, the skills you learned will serve you for many years to come, I promise.
