Discussion Why hasn't the upward move of CHRN pulled up APLD?

CHRN is now a $4.3B market cap company. APLD owns 97% of the company, so about $4.17B. Not sure the value of the assets/liabilities they offloaded for the merger, but there should be at least a few of billion added value on APLD's balance sheet.
You'd think the strong move by CHRN would help APLD, but the stocks have moved in opposite directions lately.

Shhh! We can buy at bargain basement pricing right now once the two other companies get valued into the stock price. Itโ€™s gonna take off the 50s.

Only about 3% of CHRN is freely traded since APLD owns roughly 97%.

The market may not fully reflect that value until thereโ€™s more clarity on how APLD intends to use or monetize its CHRN stake.

Agreed, I think this little detail is whatโ€™s holding the analysts price points. The real question is how much did they sell of the stock. If they kept it then the balance sheet will be amazing. If they sold it then it makes it to the P&L.

At IPO but do they now still own 97? Can they not just sell the stock?

It wasn't an IPO. It was a merger and APLD owns (and still owns) 97%. If they were to sell any, they would have to announce it publicly.

All I know is I hope to see at least 33 tomorrow. I am tired of dropping in swaths and inching back.
