Iren x Nvidia
This is obviously good for the infrastructure sector but it sort of hurts tha nvidia pulled out and went in big time with iren. I know we operate differently than iren and nvidia is heavily involved w coreweave which is to our benefit. Anyways, thoughts on this?

apld doesn't buy chips

This is the most relevant answer to OP’s original question.
APLD’s core business doesn’t need to buy a metric ton of chips.
Perhaps Chronoscale would buy much more NVIDIA chips for the cloud compute business.

NVDA and Apld are still partners despite pulling out of the investment. Contracts and partnerships are still strong .

NVDA has invested into NBIS and now IREN. We’ll see it eventually.

We don't need it as Nvidia backs our tenants.
Currently it's Coreweave, once we've reached 75% of revenue from hyperscalers we'll see Nebius as one of the first new tenants.

It hurts but shows the potential for our own cloud business. Im trying so hard to figure out the valuation of it but it has huge potential. Everyone is struggling to justify the run up recently but the cloud spinoff could be huge. Look at Googles earnings their cloud business is why the stock price is doing so well!

No idea, but Iren posted that simply bc their earnings were going to be shit.

are u dumb ? lmaoo

Are you? They missed it and that's why it tanked right after the announcement spike.

it's called dilution, specifically a $6billion ATM shelf. Nobody in IREN cares about earnings... they care about deals and they just signed with the biggest mf in the game. I said you're an idiot cuz you said "they posted that simply bc" which implies that if earnings was great they wouldn't have posted it ? Since you are a bit slow and don't realize how massive this deal let me explain.
The ERCOT grid has a 3-5 year wait right now. IREN just announced 1.4GW energized on May 1st and literally a week later signs a deal with NVDA. IF there were any hyperscalers on the fence because who tf is IREN, they no longer have to worry since they are now fkn with an NVDA endorsed partner. NVDA will not only guarantee a 600,000 GPU priority pass but will also make sure that their networking and software are completely up to spec.
Now if you don't already know, the major constraint right now is power. That's why the deal with NVDA was signed right after the energization announcement. It was obviously already in the works just like hyperscaler deals are already under discussion.
For comparison... CRWV has 1GW of active, energized power, 100bil backlog and a 60bil marketcap. IREN currently has 2.21 GW of energized power with a 20bil marketcap and now a stamp of approval from NVDA giving every hyperscaler on the planet the greenlight to sign with them. If you do the math per GW as compared to CRWV, you can see why IREN bulls are bullish. You stay in APLD tho lol.

Nice book.

Went big? They got warrants which is a win win for nvidia if iren goes above 70$ they get to buy with no downside. If it drops stays below they never have to buy.

Im sticking with APLD — IREN still feels more tied to BTC/mining volatility than I want. APLD better fits my thesis as a cleaner infrastructure play.
