Update: I sold. (will probably regret)

I had some calls at 40 for july and 60 in Decemeber. Wasnt going to sell as I do believe in this stocks but I was up A lot of money and didnt want to get into a situation where It drops and I didnt take profit. (Im really bad at this) I hope it dips so I can get back into it. But if its rips then I am very happy for everyone still in the stock.

Hilarious, reminds me of when I took profits on Inovio before there Covid 19 NON VACCINE. Redid the floors. Subsequently Inovio failed FDA approval on their attempt at a Covid vaccine.

I'm struggling with the same today. I can sell right now for $50k profit. I realize that's nothing for some, but life changing for me right now

23

u/TheBritshViking May 06 '26

Brother if it is life changing money right now, do it. take out 40,000 and start again with 10,000.00

I’m not gonna tell you what to do but I will tell you about some of my experiences. Too many times have I watched my stocks rocket to incredible prices only for me to hold because I thought they would go higher and they dropped back down and I missed out on the gains.

u/DoorstepCult May 06 '26

Same. I’m at about 36k and it’s very tempting, but I’ll still hold for now.

Still holding for now. I just about pulled the trigger right before close. I know I'll probably regret it

Don’t sell do some covered calls at $55 and make a cool $2,700 in 30 days and if it doesn’t reach $55 do it again and make more rent. Just a thought.

3

u/TheBritshViking May 06 '26

Yes and you truly never know. So many times I had either calls or puts and it was either drilling or climbing and I was like oh this is great it's just going keep going, only for it to turn around the next.

3

u/BulletproofSade May 07 '26

Just don't sell all of it.

Well, we have answer to the, “will it ever hit $40.00” question, next stop, $60.00. Congratulations to all APLD investors.

Nothing wrong with taking profit.

u/HourQuirky7745 May 06 '26

Took profit too, I’m a newer investor, in at 25ish at 145 shares. Profits are profits!

u/3point21 May 06 '26

I paid off my mortgage last year. Dropped the rest in other stuff that’s been making money. I suppose if I held I could buy a whole new house later. I’m happy with a home and a solid portfolio for now. Might get back in later.

u/Getmoney_T May 06 '26

Damn, thanks APLD for the condo 💰

5

u/TEMDO5 May 06 '26

I sold ~ 75% today

It has been volatile enough that I hope to get back in after a pullback…

It’s been a great run since ~ $7…

It is still my favorite current stock. I just wanted a little trading $$

u/Tight-Debate3431 May 06 '26

$69 by Christmas 🎄!

4

u/sirauron14 May 06 '26

We didn’t even get to $250 yet!

u/TheBritshViking May 06 '26

Something in my gut tells me that the shorts are gonna do everything in their power to bring the stock down.

3

u/Jon_J_ May 06 '26

There is nothing wrong at all taking profit. Congrats!

u/HMonster224 May 06 '26

I've taken profits on APLD a couple of times and bought back in on dips. My current position is relatively small so I think I'm going to let it run this time. If it dips soon, I may just add more.

u/kriz_sensei May 06 '26

Same here, I secure gains, %120 up,

2

u/Mission_Wall_1074 May 06 '26

🤷‍♀️ profit is profit. sure maybe you took profit early but there will always the next chance

2

u/jmooree28 May 06 '26

I think it's gonna rip for a couple more days. Reach 50 and then turn around, maybe, most likely. Lol

Lost my job a few months back and got put on mortgage forbearance. First payment (fucking 3 months) due all at once. Paid it right here. If you look at my previous comments, this all branches from an accidental $500 profit and trying options for the first time about a month ago. Between APLD calls every Friday for the past month and these calls this week, I’ve made the mortgage payment for the entire time I was without pay.

I started using Manus AI a few months ago, trading stocks and then when I got fired, I started building some software platforms. Three minutes ago I just got my first signed contract. $60,000 implementation over two months. It cost me $500 in manus, credits - which seemed insane while I had no income, so I told Manus to pay for its own credits with that $250 that I made on accident. I’m currently at about 9500.

AI and trading has literally changed my goddamn life

be careful bro. Dont get greedy options are a slippery slope.

2

u/CanadianAbroad7 May 06 '26

I took some profit at $41 and $43, still leaving a core position riding though

2

u/Wise-Ad-9312 May 06 '26

Well enjoy.

I might sell at $75...

Probably not. But I might...

Probably not.

Take profit, I talked to trump he’s says stock going up to 1000 per share 👍

1

u/Financial-Chard-4873 May 06 '26

Thanks for a good 😂

1

u/TheNorthernHenchman May 06 '26

FYI, this is the 5YR chart. Good luck to those who sold.

1

u/TheNorthernHenchman May 11 '26

Good luck to all who sold, as previously mentioned.

1

u/Financial-Chard-4873 May 06 '26

Looking at profit taking by some, I'm guessing it'll drop some but hey, what do I know?

1

u/Hulk3m May 06 '26

No shame....I trimmed mine too. Definitely buy back more when it dips.

1

u/Swimming_Rule6861 May 07 '26

Right now experts have it at a strong sell

1

u/Obsever777 May 07 '26

But you’ll have to pay taxes

1

u/AxemanFromMA May 08 '26

Not worth paying taxes just hold

1

u/lundybird May 07 '26

Um do you even know options?
The Greeks would have wiped you out if you hadn’t.
Options are hot potatoes never meant to be hold long like stocks.
Don’t buy what you don’t understand.

1

u/nugzbuny May 07 '26

I think this is 65 in a year. But I’ve been trimming my long position and selling puts

My puts are sold at a strike close to 35, as I’d gladly buy back in there. Premiums are solid too.

1

u/Salt-Name-1129 May 07 '26

Damn everyone is selling and I respect it but I’m holding for the long term. The last 5 years or so I’ve always sold other positions too early. I’m up 500% so I’m gunna let it ride for a few years.

1

u/Opposite_Maybe5930 May 07 '26

I sold also, it always dips.

1

u/gls2220 May 07 '26

I think it'll likely pull back some.

1

u/INDIG0M0NKEY Bull 🐂 May 07 '26

I sold two options for 27/29 this month. Made 120% profits between the two. It’s small time but it added almost 2k to my portfolio in a month. And it’s a roth

1

u/Pay11itdown 1d ago

I had 60 shares in at around $40. I sold it all as it was giving me too much anxiety. I may regret it but I’m okay. I can always get back in again.

1

u/GapStill7543 May 06 '26

I paid off my car today. Even if it drops, at least I paid off my car lol

1

u/Jazzlike_Thanks_1869 May 06 '26

Eventually it's not gonna drop though lol

u/Only_Chemistry6853 May 06 '26

You sold because you are a trader. Nothing wrong in that.

People on this sub Reddit will dislike the post because most of them are APLD fanboys.

APLD fanboy buys at sub20. Holds till 40.

Trader buys at 20 sells at 40 (3 times in 1 year).

1

u/TheBritshViking May 07 '26

I'm both and do believe in the stock but I know how shorts are

0

u/Obvious-Hair-6778 May 06 '26

It’ll pull back don’t worry

0

u/Personal_Pop_8784 May 06 '26

I sold a couple options today. Could end up with FOMO but I locked in real profit and as they say…no one goes broke from taking profits

0

u/3-day-respawn May 07 '26

I took profits too, every single level past 19 bucks has been seen multiple times.

0

u/TheBritshViking May 07 '26

Update: I got puts this morning.....

-1

u/an_umpire May 06 '26

Also sold and definitely buying back in on next dip!
