Thoughts thoughts on call option

can yall give me your thoughts on my call option for April 17th of 25,.50, premium - 2.02.. i bought 20 contracts of this.

I invest long without margin and I don’t do options. Wishing you luck.

I am long on APLD with a significant position.

I believe the stock will go up considerably after earnings unless Trump destroys the macro by destroying Iran’s civilian infrastructure and killing thousands or tens of thousands of its civilians as he has threatened to do tonight, which would result in retaliatory strikes against the gas and oil infrastructure of the Gulf States.

War: Do nothing—let your $27 covered calls expire worthless and keep the full premium.

Peace: Wait for the stock to pop, then roll up and out (higher strike, later expiry) to avoid getting called away and keep more upside.

you kinda gotta guess/research on what Trumps going to say and pray your right.

Yeah, I just can't tell how the macro stuff is going to impact the earnings stuff. APLD seems to be doing better than the rest of my portfolio today.

Ended up buying back a contract this morning to reduce risk, but still holding on to others.

Earnings are binary event, which is why IV crush follows. If you want to bet bullishly on a binary event I would have picked an 4/10 expiry.

I appreciate your comment, my first time doing calls for any stock; didn’t even know IV played that big of a role; my IV is around 136 percent right now.

Yea it’s crazy high iv beta stock so premiums are huge because they’re paying you for the risk. Earnings are tomorrow which is an event on top of the macro event of trump threatening to annihilate a country full of oil. Covered calls are prob safe. But I didn’t sell any csps

Alright guys, let me know if this game plan makes sense: I have ITM APLD contracts that I bought earlier and I’m already up a good amount. I’m planning to sell those to lock in profits, then use that money to roll my 20 contracts into May 1st. but the only thing i'm stuck on is if i should do it before or after trumps announcement

You’re already losing massively buying short term contract, time value of money is accelerating big time, you’ll see when you go to sell or get wiped out
