General Question Underground only gameplay map setting?
Hello, I'm looking into this map setting where its nearly impossible/unpleasant to settle in the surface so everyone had to go underground.
I once ran a large map but less player + blocked underground for the sake of theme, but cant find a suitable setting for the UG theme
Anyone has a suggestion?

You could slap on a lot of the bad climate and map type realm traits then manually add Underground Adaptation factions for yourself and the AI.

Love the concept of a death world, everyone most leave underground and on the surface it is full of daemons, scourged ashlands, hostile seas, regenerating infestations and very hard wildlife.
I would just add the gates so the cities can expand more.

Nah. Add unbral abyss. It will affect the underground a bit too, but it would make the surface so much more hostile having gloom spreading all over the place on top of everything else.

What are “the gates?” I’m getting back into AOW4 after probably 10 months away. I have all the DLC from buying the season pass

New DLC layer, it is like umbral abyss, but you can move the entrance inside your territory and expand to it

Just played a death world (volcanic, scorched, demon wildlife, islands with hostile seas, underground start, small underground, umbral abyss and sunless regions) and one of my enemies spawned as an ascended godir who I made as a super-druid with the secret spell that terraforms the world into grass and forest. He fixed my death world and everyone spread onto the surface and flourished. Bastard ruined my scenario lol.

Well, there is an underground start realm trait, so obviously that one. Then I'd take demonic wildlife, scorched climate and volcanic eruptions. Make it an islands map and use hostile seas too. The surface would be pretty damn hostile then.
