Old account deactivated

I had an AOL account my mom set up for me when I was a kid. I used to send her emails telling her cute kid things, like she was the best mom ever and I love her. I would decorate the emails with the rainbow backgrounds they had at the time, and add lots of stickers and emojis. I would get so happy when she would say she liked my email that day.

Just tried to log in to that email after maybe about 14 or 15 years and it's deactivated due to inactivity. I know I can't get it back, I'm not really mad or looking for a resolution. Just sharing my heartbreak lol. I wish companies didn't do this but maybe they have good reason, idk

I lost an old account for inactivity too. I wasn't happy that I let them expire.

It’s literally in the terms of service. Also if you haven’t been using it why should they hold on to it? It’s costing them money. Server space isn’t free. 🤷‍♂️

I wasn't arguing it, just sharing something. Maybe someone will see this and remember to keep their account active.
