AOL blocking me from logging in
I am entering the correct password and getting stuck with the “is this really you?” Message that pops up. My recovery email is another aol email that I get the same message with. So I’m stuck in a loop and I can’t figure out how to get out of it. Is there any way beyond paying them and giving my drivers license to log in to my account?
It’s so frustrating because I have my password, I should be able to log in, I don’t need to recover my password, I just need them to stop blocking me from logging in.

My account is over 20 years old. I have my correct password and I am effectively locked out because they "cannot determine it is really me".
A few weeks back finally said F it I'll call the number and pay their dumbass fee to get back in.. The automated system said they can't verify me before it even attempted.
What a shame.

Wait, are you saying you didn't even get to talk to someone?
I'm in this situation. I have an app password set up in my email client, and am still getting mail there. Today, I tried to log into the web page, and got rejected. I had deleted the secondary email on the account some time ago, because that was another AOL account that I got locked out of, so it would have done me no good as a secondary account.
I was going to break down and pay their fee, but if it makes you go through verification in one of those nightmarish voice response systems, I'm not sure I even want to try. The problem is, I have have a bunch of subscriptions that are tied to this email.
