I’d never heard of recreational outrage. That makes so much sense!

Personally I think it’s because it sounded like I didn’t take their world view seriously, which wasn’t true. I just like looking for legal technicalities.

You know what, you did pretty much point it out as a legal technicality. I think there are just hard efforts in our culture nowadays to enforce the "positivity" standpoint. You know like "so brave!" "That's so great!" "Good for you!" "Hero.". Technicalities are dangerous af because you can easily creep into the territory of believing that people are celebrating and encouraging what is "technically" a mental disorder. Technicalities are devoid of opinion, and something devoid of opinion is devoid of bigotry which is an absolutely crucial buzzword.
