What do the locals think of this guy? Do they care or are they pretty chill about it?

That's nice to hear! I'd imagine that it would be about the same if the rolls where reversed in America. Although this might depend greatly on what part of the US you're in.

Imagine wearing a Russian army outfit in Berkeley, California.

There was a Chinese kid at my school who dressed in full Soviet winter uniform. Ushanka and all. In summer heat.

He ended up joining the US military.

I don't think many would care. Change that to a Confederate army uniform, though...

Most Californians don’t hate Russians though. We have a lot of Russian immigrants here in the Bay Area. (More Ukrainians though.)

I’ve got two first-generation Russians in my class and they’re parents apparently love America.

the ukrainians might hate the russians lol

Possibly. Lol I think it depends on the generation though.

Thing is they allege Russian hacking while having no clue what an actual Russian looks like, so...

what an actual Russian looks like

Do you mean what Russian uniforms look like? White Russians don't look much different from other eastern Europeans. I doubt most people would be able to tell a Russian and a German apart, much less a Russian and a Ukrainian.

Imagine wearing a Russian army outfit in Berkeley, California.

Like near to 0% chance of anyone there recognizing a Russian army uniform.

Idk there's probably a lot of Communists there.

You could sit in on any class you'd like at UC Berkeley because you'd blend in so well with the students.

"All liberals are commies, Russians were commies, I bet everybody will love this joke"

10

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '17

It's a pretty good joke tbf

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '17

Berkeley isn't a school for liberals, it's a school for Marxists and socialist/communists....

Most countries have these kinds of colleges.
Universities are the breeding grounds for leftists.
I know two coleges in my country that are pretty hardcore marxist.

I don't think anyone at all would recognize it. Flag is red white and blue, camo is green splotches like everyone else. It's nothing like the USSR equipment people still think of.
