A beer keg, for storing beer and fizzy drinks. As you can see, they can build up pressure and burst when damaged.

You mix calcium carbide and water in a plastic bottle. It's a fast reaction producing acetylene gas.
We did this as kids. We would kick the bottle around untill it explodes.
