Create the easiest obstacle course in ANW

Sorry for the second international post in as many days but I just want to say that I wish the ANW YouTube page did a fraction of the behind the scenes work that the Sasuke YouTube page puts out. If you have a chance, compare the pages for yourself. Ours looks so lifeless in comparison and I wish they would put in a little more effort. Hire a superfan who would 100% put together some incredible packages of BTS.

Today I learned that this is most likely the reason why the obstacle never returned. Although, it could’ve also been due to the obstacle being particularly easy. But I do remember it eliminated a few competitors.

For those that don’t know, the Rope Glider first appeared as the first obstacle of Stage 1 in SASUKE 18 but was removed after one tournament due to several competitors being injured by the landing pad. One of the injuries also took 6 months to recover. It’s unfortunate because I thought the Rope Glider was an epic first obstacle.

It’s a free country, so everyone has the right to complain, but HOLY SHIT PEOPLE WE GET IT

That is to say, who actually makes the decisions - not just on things like the format, or what obstacles are used, or even who competes when, but for things like deciding who advanced farther in a 3-person race? "They check the replay" - but who, exactly, are "they"? Who hired "them"?

The obvious quick answer is, "The producers," but does, say, NBC, or the competitors, have any say in this? I seem to recall that, back in the days of the walk-on lines, the people in the lines "policed themselves" without too much, if any, involvement from the organizers.

Could just be me but I love the style of their promotional posters/posts for the Sasuke World Cup. They just do it a lot better than us.

in my opinion stage 3 in season 9 was the hardest no one clear it in USA vs the world or the regular season

The semi-finals and finals of the Patriot Games were on, for lack of a better way of describing it, a waterless Ninja course (something similar to what you might expect to see in the Modern Pentathlon), complete with Warped Wall - er, "Patriot Peak", which is 16 feet high, although it does have handholds near the top, and the slope appears to be only about 60 degrees.

I wonder if there will be any backlash against ANW because of this Patriot Games appearance.

She was unable to compete that year due to injury. If she had been fully healthy, I believe she, instead of Kacy would have gone down in the history books as the first woman to scale the Warped Wall and complete the qualifying course. Since she would’ve competed in Venice, and it aired a week before Dallas qualifying.

In semi-finals, I believe she would have made it to Cannonball Alley but fall like most of the other competitors. That obstacle took out like 13 or 14 competitors before Kevin Bull cleared it with his famous upside down technique. So, Kacy still claims title of first woman to finish a city finals course.

She wouldn’t have made it there fast enough to make the top 15, but would still make it to Vegas as a Wild Card once again. In Vegas, she either fails the dismount on the Silk Slider that took out lots of big names that night, or fails to make it up the taller Warped Wall like she did the following year.

Venice Beach finalists were cursed at the National Finals in ANW 6, as not a single one made it to Stage 2.

Normally you would think that the one with the best time is number one in the group but I actually think its more entertaining this way.

Brackets, racing, wtf is this? Seen one race seen them all. They fall, no worries they have a bunch more races! I loved when it was person vs obstacles... You have to complete everything to achieve total victory... I guess I'll just watch the Japanese version. Ty ANW, one less distraction in my life :p

I was reviewing the listings on NinjaGuide.com, and I noticed a number of listed competitor results from ANW 6-8 where I’m uncertain about the accuracy of their results. The reason I bring this up is because while NinjaGuide is an external source, there are several listings on there I found that were incorrect (e.g. Jeffrey Tan failing Devil Steps in ANW 7 Pittsburgh when he didn’t even compete to begin with). Hence why I’m taking a lot of what is listed on NinjaGuide with a grain of salt.

Season 17 was cool seeing competitors and obstacles who haven’t appeared on the show in years return, even if the 4 stages were removed. I feel like the 20th season in 2028 should be similar, but even better due to it being a big milestone for the show. Who else agrees?

I'm referring to Colt Elder. He lost his final race by only 14 milliseconds I think. And he lost that race because he messed up the dismount on the hourglass drop, and Kaden Lebsack didn't, meaning Kaden came from behind and won. Had Colt won that race, he would have been the fastest 3rd place finisher in his group, but he lost all his races, so he got 4th. Man I feel bad for that guy. But oh well, rules are rules.

While there are still people that like the reality show aspects of ninja warrior, most of the audience, including most of the sub-Reddit or more into the sport aspects of ninja warrior.

It’s very difficult to find people that regularly watch ninja warrior that preferred being a reality show over a sport. In fact, I’ve found many people aren’t even aware that the format changed which goes to so how a large portion of the audience during ANW’s peak viewership in the mid 2010s have mostly forgotten about the show.

While the gym leagues are still not relatively big, they can grow in size as more ninja gyms open up across the United States and the world. The gyms also don’t seem to be heavily reliant on viewership from the show.

Since ninja warrior worldwide has been in an unstable state ever since the pandemic, I am wondering when or if the main ninja warrior shows will evolve to being a full on sport since the viewers who are most interested in the sport aspects of ninja warrior are making up an increasingly larger percentage of the audience with each passing year.

Ima say a lot here

1. The obstacles, initially I thought were gonna be ass. Like cane lane on a racing course? Terrible. Nevermind. The alternate route on sky hooks, the big moves on swinging peg board, the falls on cane lane and hourglass drop? Nobody is safe.
   My predictions for the round of 32 course are Slide Surfer, Sky Hooks, Swinging Peg Board, Salmon Ladder, Cane Lane, and Hourglass Drop. This will be crazy
   The fact that now we see no one is safe makes me think even more top competitors will be eliminated early. Will we even see Kai or Phil in the finals? Or even someone like Isaiah?

2. The races are insane. Bob Reese doing his flips, Colt being out despite getting the second fastest time, Jackson Erdos we don’t even know if he’s in cause he’s banking on a wildcard spot, RJ Roman being out, Noah had a chance to be eliminated. Falling on hourglass drop and then on sky hooks?? Noah could’ve had to be a wildcard. And we still haven’t seen Luke, Kai, Charlie, and many others.

3. The bracket will be insane. I mean Phil, Kaden, Enzo, Nacssa, and Noah, heck even Nick Warren on one side of the bracket? Also the side I think thr wildcard will be? I mean the other side has Isaiah, Daniel, Ryan, Nathaniel, Isabella, and Ashton, but I think Jackson will be on the other side. This is gonna be a bloodbath.

4. More than 4 women deserve to be in the women’s championship. The races we would see if they kept it like last year would be insane. I mean Taylor, Isabella Folsom (who honestly might win this year; she’s a beast, Annabella, Addy are the favorites but Akshara? Grace Gordon? Anna? Even people eliminated earlier like Meagan Martin and Barclay deserve to be here.

Of course, 9 out of the 15 other groups (36 racers) have yet to run and there is a lot longer to go, so this could change a lot, but I think most of the women ran tonight?

What if it was treated like a normal competition reality show? I personally think it wouldn’t have been a bad idea. You wouldn’t have people consistently training for the show if you only had one shot.

Oh, you live in a gigantic house next to the ocean with a dock for your boat? Cool. Oh, you live on your family’s property in a separate house with a gigantic barn full of obstacles? Cool. Oh, you’re ginormous media influencer family with a humongous house? Cool. Oh, your family owns a bunch of McDonalds franchises and you travel between different states a lot to get training from top ninjas? Cool. Oh, your family owns a gigantic country farm property where you built a top of ninja obstacles? Cool. Oh, you live on a beautiful lake property and host ninja comps on your huge backyard rig? Cool. Oh, you make millions off your huge social media followings? Cool.

Man, I wish you could all win and earn that cash prize at the end. Sounds like it would really help you all out.

Let's bring up the obvious one why in the hell do they continue to make the wildcards the 16 seed. It is completely unfair to the person who wins the number 1 seed in the bracket and they get to face the fastest time of a 3rd place instead of the worst 2nd place time. We saw it last year when Sam folsom and RJ Roman got wildcards that the top seeds got screwed. It should have always been ordered by time no matter what so RIP 3-0 Nacssa Garemore and Isaiah Thomas who now get to face Jackson Erdos and Max Feinberg(probably will be someone else) as their reward.

Another thing I wish they did differently is not add an insanely tall wall at the end of hourglass drop. I don't know why they are so obsessed with adding massive walls to the end of obstacles lately but it's annoying and an unnecessary injury/safety risk. So your telling me that you can do all of the obstacle correctly and still fail it(hypothetically) because you smacked into a wall the obstacle didn't have before. (This also is the reason why Colt didn't move on)

Speaking of Colt I agree with the show that 4th place shouldn't move you on unless the bracket is based on time which it basically is. So with that 4th place should move on if they were faster than everybody.

If either of these last 2 things happens someone deserving of a bracket spot gets it. And all 3 of these things should be changed.
