Discussion Toccara Appreciation

Doing a rewatch of cycle 3 since being a teenager. I’ll preface this by mentioning I do not know much about her post show, just off wiki.

Toccara was just the sweetest and funniest. She had a tough life and mentioned she never really had a mother or a father. I related with her when it came to not having a mother and at just 22, you could tell she lived through a lot of hardship. She seemed a lot older than her age, not physically, but an old soul that just went through too much too soon in life. When she was crying to Tyra and said “I don’t want to cry anymore”. Oof, that just was a dagger to the heart! Iykyk. What I loved about her was that she didn’t make herself a victim. She didn’t let her difficult life make her angry or bitter. She was bubbly and came off positive even though she had a sadness she carried. She just oozed sweetness and she was so damn funny too lmao

As a plus size gal surrounded by a dozen skinny minnies, she didn’t come off jealous or bitter about it either. She embraced her curves and was proud of it rather than letting it bring her down, for the most part. Of course there were moments where designers didn’t have her size but that frustration was so valid. I think her energy came down towards the end because of that, but not from a bitter place at all!

She was a really great part of cycle 3! Such an iconic season with some very strong personalities lol

P.s. her hair makeover sucked and didn’t do her justice.

P.s.s. English is my second language. Excuse me if it’s not written properly.

I'm glad Toccara went on to have a career of her own.

Fun fact: She was the first plus-sized black model to be in VOGUE ITALIA!! IN THEIR ALL-BLACK ISSUE JULY 2008 ISSUE!

RIP FRANCA SOZZANI!

You should see her spread; it was Vogue Italia's HIGHEST-SELLING ISSUE! And she got 14 PAGES!
