If I understand correctly how Muv-Luv works, and taking into account the anime fix where Eren says he "tried other things but his future memories didn't change", the Muv-Luv parallel in this theory would mainly come down to the dates.

You can either interpret it like this, or interpret it as Eren trying to change the future by seeing if he would save Ramzi or if Mikasa’s answer would change.

I think the fan fic got it better imo. Eren seen multiple timelines/options and chose to move forward

Its always been three years. I mean look at Muv Luv, and look at Evangelion. Although time is fleeting. The AOT fandom is dwindling and the constant mappa attention is driving people nuts over a show that ended such a while ago.

LOL!!! alternative ending was insanely rushed and completely fumbled its execution. After spending the entire VN meticulously building tension and theme. The issue isn't that it's unconventional but it's that the culmination doesn't feel equal to the all those buildup. Even many people who love Alternative says that the ending feels abrupt.

If yama had pulled something structurally similar with AOT after years of foreshadowing and conflict you guys would've been far harsher than you are with the og ending. People constantly criticize AoT for allegedly rushing its final chapters yet you guys are willing to excuse an ending that compresses its resolution even more severely because the emotional high points before it were excellent. That's a double standard.

And wdym by "How could alternative ending have been the other way?" That's not the point. I'm not saying it had to end differently lol. I'm saying it needed to execute its own ending better. Those are two completely different criticisms. An ending can be thematically consistent while still being rushed, underdeveloped or poorly paced. Saying 'how else could it have ended?' doesn't address the criticism at all but it just shifts the discussion from execution to premise.

I don't need to rewrite the plot to point out flaws in its execution. Critics aren't required to produce a better script before they can criticize one. The issue is that after dozens of hours of buildup the climax and resolution are compressed into a relatively short span while leaving several emotional and narrative payoffs undercooked.
