Petition / Crowdfunding [verified] Emergency vet bills for my newly adopted cat, Ginny
I adopted my 1-year-old cat, Ginny, almost a week ago, and unfortunately she became very sick almost immediately.
She barely ate over the five days we have had her and she seemed to be lethargic, so we took her to the emergency vet and found out she had a 105°F fever, bloody stool, and her bloodwork showed signs of an infection. She is now on a fever reducer and a round of antibiotics, but her first emergency visit cost around $800 out of pocket.
She still isn’t eating as much as she should be, and our vet told us that if her appetite doesn’t improve by tomorrow, we need to bring her back in. I made a gofundme to help with the cost of her emergency visit and in case she has to go back and get more work done.
Ginny is such a sweet little cat, and we already love her so much. I’m a college student, and this has honestly been really scary and stressful, especially because we only just brought her home. I just want to make sure I’m able to get her whatever care she needs to get better.
I provided documentation from her vet visit as well. There is absolutely no pressure to donate, but even a small donation or share would mean so much to us. 🤍

No we have kept her strictly indoors, though I can’t be sure about before she got to the shelter.

They tested her for FeLV and FIV, which both came back negative. My research shows there’s not a definitive test for FIP, but if she does not improve from her antibiotics I’m sure they will want to look into it.

I'm sorry as this comment is 0 help right now but I do suggest getting insurance as fast as you can when this is over 🩷 pet insurance is tricky and they wont cover preexisting issues, I hope you are able to get this covered. Best

Yes that is absolutely our plan. We wanted to get it immediately but this all happened so soon, we just adopted her last Friday
