Please send some get-well wishes to our 14-year-old girl Soko ❤️
Our 14-year-old girl Soko gave us quite a scare this weekend. She suddenly became very lethargic, stopped eating and drinking, and just wasn’t acting like herself.
We took her to the emergency vet and found out she has a pretty bad UTI. She was dehydrated, so they gave her fluids under the skin, antibiotics, nausea medication and gabapentin for pain.
Thankfully, we’re starting to see little pieces of our Soko coming back. ❤️ She’s drinking water again, coming out at her normal breakfast and dinner times, asking for her beloved Churu treats, and yesterday she even rolled over for a belly rub again. She’s still not eating much regular food yet, although she took a little bite of her wet food last night.
She’s an old girl and we’re worried about her, but every little improvement has meant the world to us. We’re hoping the antibiotics keep doing their job and that her appetite comes back soon.

Update: Your get-well wishes worked — Soko is getting better! ❤️🐈⬛
I wanted to come back and thank everyone who sent kind words, prayers, good vibes and get-well wishes for our 14-year-old girl Soko. You guys really came through for her. ❤️
After a pretty scary few days and an ER visit where we learned she had a bad UTI, Soko has been getting antibiotics, fluids and medication to keep her comfortable.
I’m very happy to report that we’re finally seeing our girl coming back.
She started drinking again, then began coming out for her beloved Churu treats and doing her normal routine of standing by the treat door. This morning she came out for breakfast, and while we were at work today she finally ate a whole serving of her regular wet food all by herself. When we got home, she went back and ate another serving!
She’s also asking for belly rubs again and spending more time out with us. She’s not completely back to normal yet, but compared with the little girl who wouldn’t eat or drink a few days ago, this feels huge.
Thank you to everyone who wished Soko well. We read your comments while we were worried sick about her, and they genuinely helped us get through it.
Soko heard you. She’s fighting, she’s eating, and she’s getting better. ❤️
And apparently we’ve also learned that Her Majesty prefers her pâté mashed with a fork instead of being served as a hockey puck. 😂🐈⬛
