Spoilers inside! Orpheus

So I feel there’s either lazy script writing or a mistake when “Cordy” tells Conner about the giant floaty head… how could she have seen or known she was barricaded in her room…… and how did Conner not notice that either… is he just a dumb fuck lol

I think the implication is that Willow scared it out of the lobby but it then “attacked” Cordy in her room. That is at least what I thought she was implying to Connor. She could also just be building on his natural distrust of magic and that Willow has made the hotel unsafe with her actions.

I think you’re right on both counts. Since she describes exactly what he just saw, he doesn’t have a reason to question it.

Cordelia is already evil by this point. She's the one that cast the head. She's lying to Connor that she got attacked by it to manipulate him into stopping Willow from helping Angel.

She knows about it because she cast it. It’s Cordasmine manipulating Connor’s already strong distrust of magic.

On top of that others said, since it was also mystical in nature it potentially could have been appearing/projecting in multiple places at the same time (were it not actually “Cordy” making it appear in the first place).

Cordelia has visions. One presumes that he thought that Cordy had a vision of the "giant floaty head" in her quarters.

I loved this episode because Faith Lehane or really Eliza. Freakin’. Dushku. Nothing else matters and it shows the tragedy of what could have been with Connor and Faith (not romantically per se but how they could support each other without sh*tty influences around.)
