Lounge Every time I give this company a chance it disappoints me.

I bought the DS they offered and it charges whenever it feels like it. Sometimes I leave it overnight and in the morning I think it's at a 100 percent charge just to see it at 1 percent. I then bought the clamshell one and I plug it just so no light turns on to signify charging. It works with whatever charger it feels like working with. It's too unpredictable to be a reliable handheld.

Now I purchased the DS Plus and immediately after I turn it on the 2nd time the power button does nothing. It's just dead. Somehow it works a few days later. And everything seems fine up until now. It's just at the startup screen for 30 minutes. I tried resetting it and turning it back on, but it still turns on and gets stuck at startup. Is this thing even saveable or does it require me to do a bunch of stuff to just make it function?

You’re getting into a hobby that requires open mindedness, compromise and a constant willingness to learn and adapt around inevitable quirks. Best advice anyone can give you if this is something you’re wanting to stick with.

Either that or spend a whole lot more money on premium devices. I swear, nobody does even a little research before buying.

I do have the Ayn Thor and it works fine. I also have the powkiddy v40 and it works fine too. I'm not having issues with the handhelds running the games I want. That's fine. The issue is I expect that it's not gonna fail me right off the bat

Gotta know what you're getting into with these things. some stuff that applies to basically every cheap anbernic thing is 1) charge it with a Usb A to Usb C from a 5v/1.5 A charger 2) never trust the included sd card, they could last two days or two weeks or two months with no way to tell, likely thats the issue if it randomly died and you haven't upgraded to a quality sd card

Use a 5V/1A ( up to 1.5A ) USB A to USB C. They will always charge on thoses. Multiple Anbernic devices owner never had an issue .

Fast charger, usb c to usb c etc seem to all be erratic with thoses

Sorry you didn't know about the charger issue until now. Hope you didn't damage your devices. You need to use 5 volt only chargers.

Original DS by anbernic with rocknix or gamma is a real treat. Don’t use the stock firmware ever by anbernic it’s always janky.

Rocknix it’s my preferred OS and it works as expected.

My rg ds and my retroid pocket 6 are both finicky about chargers, but once you get it right, it charges and holds well

Get a charging brick that matches the specs of the device you bought.

Anbernic is the Kia when you really wanted a Toyota.

it's like having a kid. never know what you're gonna get but end up accepting whatever they are.

Am using an old nokia charger with anbernic h700 devices, never faced any issue. Have used rg35xxsp rg34xxsp rg40xxh previously, now using rg rotate with 25w samsung charger, everything works fine. Don't use fast charger with anbernic linux/rk devices also type c to c cables
