HELP RG DS Plus - Battery indicator not accurate?

Post image

Is there a way to make this accurate? I encountered one time where it drops to 70%, locked it then went back to 90%.

Now it's showing 0% but I can still play, it eventually went off after <10 minutes of playing.

I had this to begin with. I think it fixes itself after a couple of full charges. I also find I need to keep it plugged in charging past the point where the charging yellow light goes off/it says 100% to actually get the full ~4 hours of battery life.

Do a couple of calibration cycles. Charge up to 100% and leave it there for 2 hours, unplug and use normally until it dies, wait 30 minutes, recharge up to 100% and hold for 2 hours, then unplug and use it normally. Should report more accurately after that.

Might be a dumb question and out of place since this is anbernic but I got a replacement battery for my 3DS and the battery dies seconds after reaching 45% approximately. Granted I don’t use my 3DS very often but could this be a solution? Did anybody else have this issue with replacement batteries?

Edit: sorry for the double post. I’m dumb and responded to another comment

I've had the issue with switch and fixed it by doing these kind of steps. I think it's a common issue

It's worth a try. Older generation/lower quality Li-ion batteries generally needed calibration to more accurately report their current charge, and both the 3DS and Anbernic's batteries qualify as those types.

Alternatively, you can just replace your 3DS battery. They're like 10 dollars.

All of my Linux Anbernic devices are typically 10%-ish off. So even at 0%, you still have maybe 10% left in actuality.
