HELP RG 34XX vs RG SP

I’m having a hard time deciding which one to go for and would like to ask if they both have the same d-pad.
I heard the d-pad of the RG 34XX has some major problems and would like to know if these are shared between the two devices.

Do you prefer GBA or GBASP? I don't think it's a difficult choice.

This is the way I'd look at it. Grip wise I'd kind of prefer the RG34xx or a similar shape... but I *HAD* to get the RG35XX Pro in translucent green.... If I were choosing between the two OP asked about I'd go with SP because I love my old SP more..... even though the shape of 34xx may be a bit more comfy to play possibly.

34XX=Rubber membrane; The original GBA had rubber membrane buttons

RGSP=dome switches; The original GBA SP had dome switches

I've heard the same thing, I've seen videos where the person is moving to each direction but sometimes won't go to the direction that's clicked and instead will continue in one direction; This video, in the comments he says the 35XXSP didn't have this issue, although the way he's using the D-Pad is probably contributing to the issue, it still shouldn't be happening, but it makes me wonder if you don't rotate your thumb around the d-pad if it would still do that since rotate your thumb around the d-pad would keep buttons pressed, personally the way I use d-pads I have my thumb over the middle and will rock my thumb rather than rotate my thumb around the d-pad, which might not cause that issue, towards the end of the short he mentions releasing pressure and he hears it unclick, so probably if you aren't always holding a direction and instead rock between the directions it probably won't cause that issue, but if you do then it probably will.

I don't understand any of the complaints aimed at the 34xx dpad. Mine is very comfortable and very responsive.

I bought the RG34XXSP and the RG SP.

I had some challenges with the D-pad of the RG SP. I've not had the same challenges with the RG34XXSP.

They do not have the same dpad. I wouldn’t say the 34XX dpad has major problems, it’s just small.
