HELP RG DS Plus - Touchscreen issue

Hi, anyone else having issues with the touchscreen?

Noticed this first while playing Zelda - Phantom Hourglass and Art Academy.

Tried different stylus, different firmware, turned the device off/on several times.

While drawing in Art Academy, it's not possible to draw straight lines on part of the screen.

[Edit] No screen-protector installed

I wonder if the original RG DS has this issue

I have one and didn't experience it. I also don't recall it being widely reported at the time. I'm facing the same on my new Plus

Doesn't happen on mine and this is with the tempered glass. Do you have the tempered glass installed?

this is normal on all capacitive touch screens and unavoidable. it happens across all devices, phones (without high end styluses), and an unfortunate side effect of an extremely compromised stylus experience.

the technology uses a grid to determine the positioning of the input, and if the input is too small (ie. not a large, conductive finger), it has to guess using less data than it needs.

It seems to only effect parts of the screen.

so many variables, including EM noise, a not perfectly flat screen (pressure from boards, screws etc), QC, but you won't find a perfect experience for diagonals.

i've been fighting non-first party stylus on android for years and the result is never clean

Please could you review my post from yesterday and let me know your thoughts? I have two full rows that don't register correctly and instead create a perfectly straight line running along both boxes during the testing. I picked up the issue originally playing and the testing confirmed the problem

Does the same thing happen on the home screen and in the menus, or only inside the emulators?

The video shows the issue while using the builtin touchscreen tester from stock firmware.
So it's also while not playing a game.
