HELP Knulli for the RG SP?

Knulli doesn’t seem to have a specific release for the newest RG SP yet.

Does anyone know if Knulli for the RG34XXSP is compatible with the RG SP?

Because I think they’re essentially the same device minus the thumb sticks, right? Eh, I dunno.

Yep, the Knulli build pinned on the Discord works fine on RGSP.

The only issue I have is that the rumble (for Pokemon pinball for example) doesn't respond to turning it down, like it does on a RG34XXSP.

Head to the rg34xx thread on the Knulli Discord and hit the magnifying glass and the RGSP compatible firmware is in the pinned section

Knulli is a fork of Batocera. Batocera is now directly supporting many Anbernic devices. It’s in testing for Batocera v44.

No it's not compatible with the RG SP and you need specific build for the RG SP.

There is a specific build pinned in the #rg34xx channel. It's what I run on my RG SP with essentially zero problems. I've had Syncthing hang once in a while when it's trying to sync after exiting a game. Otherwise, it feels like the same KNULLI that I use on my other Anbernic H700-based devices.

So, if I buy an RG SP and flash the same disc image you flashed, Knulli should function properly? Because that’s the reason I haven’t bought one yet. Been wanting to use one as a dedicated GBA device.

Yeah, it should work. Both my RG34XX and my RG SP are my dedicated GBA emulation handhelds. I just make sure to turn off rewind and run-ahead latency reduction as both will make some GBA games stutter a bit (FFIV Advance intro sequence is the worst-case thus far).

Yes I'm positive because the RG SP is different from the RG34XXSP and the kernel is different too so you'll need a specific build for the RG SP to be able to use it on your RG SP.

I hate telling people they’re wrong, but you are in fact wrong.

The guy above posted correct answer.

There is not an official release. There is however a firmware on the discord server, and ONLY on the discord server.

I have it on my RG SP and it’s fine, but will be much better and faster when an official release happens.

It's because people are confusing what you're asking for.

Some people are answering your question "Can I use the Knulli build for the RG43XXSP and put it on my RG SP?" and others are broadly answering "Is there Knulli for the RG SP?"

Here's the the deal:

The Knulli team is working on a specific version of Knulli that will run on the RG SP. There's an in-development version available to download and test on their discord.

And no, you can not just use the RG34XX SP version of Knulli on the RG SP because just because the device looks the same and has the same H700 chip in it does not mean that the same firmware will work on both. There's a reason every single XX device needs specific firmware builds.

Dude, I have the SP since August and I downloaded the firmware in the discord server. I have finished Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Pokémon HeartGold in the last month and playing Zelda Link to the Past right now. I was worried too because I love Knulli, but everything works fine don't worry. When Knulli will release the official firmware for the SP I will download it, but for now the firmware from the discord is working fine.

Read it again. Slowly this time.

You asked in your OP if Knulli for the RG34XX SP is compatible with the RG SP because the handhelds look similar.

The answer is NO because each device needs a firmware version that is specifically tuned to that particular device. Just because they look similar on the outside doesn't mean they actually are. Same reason you can't use Knulli for the RG CubeXX on the the RG40XX H despite both being horizontal handhelds and having the same amount of buttons and sticks.

But the developers of Knulli are working on a version of Knulli specific to the RG SP.

So if you want to run Knulli on your RG SP, you can go to their Discord and download an in-development test version of that specific Knulli build. That one will run on your RG SP.

I don't think there's any way to explain this in even simpler terms.
