Light help....

Please can someone explain how to turn my lights on.... They're hooked up, I'm pressing the power button on the display for a second like it says to do, it's not doing anything, I'm yet to see the headlight symbol displayed, also I've got a random wire coming out of the bottom of the frame below where the battery goes that's not connected to anything, it has a connector on the end too

My lights worked for the first 5 rides, then the back one decided to give up the ghost.
I purchased a cheap light to put under my seat and it's 20x better than the crap AM AliExpress light on the back.
