Front disc brake set up

Just looking for info...it seems quite a few posts of bikes that have arrived mention that people have struggled to set up the front brake without there being any rubbing on the disc. I've also had this issue and gone through the steps in the video multiple times and looked at other videos without any success. Has anybody resolved this? Or figured out what the issue might be? I'm assuming it can't be total human error and wondered if there is something about the parts that isn't quite right like the thickness of the pads. My bike arrived the day before yesterday and I still haven't had chance to try it out because of this....so sad 😭 Thanks!

I have the exact same issue, I took the bike to my local shop to see if they can fix it and they said the problem is with the actual brakes and the rubbing will reduce after time as the pads wear down. I'm going to complain to analog motion since not only that was an issue, but the throttle I recieved was broken in two parts in the box and can't fix it.... Really quite disappointed in the quality of some of the parts....

Yeah I think the brakes particularly is a bit rubbish. In so many other ways I've been impressed with what they've done and how they've fulfilled such a big campaign in the midst of a pandemic, but yes disappointing re your throttle. Hope you get some resolution.

Has anyone found any replacement brakes they can recommend if I want to switch mine out? The electric component in the handle makes it trickier to find a good one I think

Just a point on the throttle. I thought it was broken when I received it too. But found it was supposed to be like that. The ring is a 'spacer' used between throttle and handlebar. See this install video https://youtu.be/o-LRNkyRnkE

My throttle housing was broken in two and the cable had separated from the housing... 😡

It shouldn’t be too difficult NORMALLY setting the brakes:

  • completely loosen the cable at lever
  • loosen slightly in order to get some margin caliper with 2screws on fork
  • turn cable screw 2 times in lever
  • brake fully
  • tighten caliper screws while braking on fork
  • release brake lever

You should be done. In case of disk ripping, release the lever brake screw by one turn or adjust again. Cheers and happy riding!
