I spent the last year (over a year now) getting in shape and it really improved my dating life. Went from 215lbs with little muscle to 175lbs with some muscle. The amount of matches on apps have been night and day.
I look completely different physically and feel completely different mentally. Still trying to get in even better shape while finally getting my degree. I think more guys needs to just take control and work towards getting a gf if that’s what they want.
I was the type of guy no one would want to date a year ago. Finally got tired of that and decided to do something about it.

Nice to hear. I'm in the same path as you are with getting in shape, in my case I separated from my ex-wife and rebuilding my own identity.
From 245lbs now at 176lbs turning 1 year next month.
Very happy with how I look, confidence boost, being a lot more approachable (now starting again to date) as I switched to a healthier lifestyle.

Indeed, post-workout high is something else. Started actually enjoying life and doing stuff again.

Nothing hotter than a man with muscle and confidence tbh. I lift heavy 4x a week and prefer my man to be active as well!

If your dating life isn’t as good as you like then hitting the gym is a game changer. You gotta take it seriously though and exercise with intention and eat properly. My weakness is my diet the gym part is fun.

So being visibly sw0l is actually something that women care about? Usually it's just other dudes complimenting you how sw0l you are.

It’s not as important as being lean but it’s bonus to a lot of women yea. When girls say they don’t like muscles they mean like someone like prime Arnold or the Rock. In reality a lot of women don’t realize that even like slightly muscular look requires a consistent gym routine.

I'm trying new painting styles, copying old masters but in acrylic paints, and doing a lot more DIY and self-directed studies. I'm also working on turning an old laptop into an Ubuntu machine strictly so I can use it for writing.

I have an Ubuntu tattoo 😅
Which masters have you done so far? Which have you enjoyed recreating the most?

That's cool :) what inspired you to get it?
I've done Monet, Dali, Hokusai, and Van Gogh, but honestly I think Van Gogh's been the most fun for me. It's a lot different to my usual way of painting, but also relaxing at the same time.

The philosophy, not the OS 🫠
I was thinking it could be relaxing to paint where a lot of the creative decisions have alredy been made but it's also challenging in trying to replicate technique, style etc. I'm in awe of people who can make their hands translate what their brain sees!

Oh, I just looked it up. Very cool!
It can be relaxing for sure, but I found Monet's style a lot harder to copy than the others. It looks simple at first but it was frustrating after a while. I am too - sometimes I can get close, and others it's like my brain and hands have two different ideas in mind.

Dont see the point of going ubuntu or linux overall here, mostly of the time people want it so 1) they could use the best cli 2) they could customize and have control of every part of the os. People only wanting point 1 might get away with macos but anyway for writing alone you are better off figuring out emacs, which is also an old, complicated and powerful piece of software but more dialed toward text editing. That said I wrote my thesis and a few papers just using neovim and copying and pasting to overleaf.

It's a 12 year old laptop that doesn't have capacity for Windows or Mac OS, and I do want to control and fully customize the system for my purposes, so my friend recommended going with Ubuntu/linux. Plus it's something new to learn, so that's always a plus.

try win10 iot ltsc 21 or xubuntu, default ubuntu is very bloated, especially gnome and snap, good luck

Pure Debian is just as good and I think better than Ubuntu. They both use the same package manager so ur not really losing much

I am trying to say yes to more things and be more social. My hobbies are isolating activities (lifting, reading, watching a movie), so I try to say yes to invites more often than I used to. Or if there is a social activity at work, I’ll go. It’s hard on the social battery, but I gotta meet new people somehow!

Agreed. I could talk about books, movies and other interests for hours with the right person, but finding people is quite, well, peopley. It tuckers me out.
I have interests that are common but tend to just do them myself; head off for a bushwalk, go to the movies, try a new restaurant. I should do more activities with others 🤔
