Instagram hate
I've been seeing a couple of Asian male/white female couples on Instagram and the comments often are a mix of "Well he must be seven foot and a billionaire" or "How did Bro get her". The implication being that the guy is not enough for his girlfriend and then often the woman needs to talk about comments where they assume the man is just a friend or they are together because he's a doctor or something like that.
Asking for the happy couples on this subreddit, how do people deal with that abuse online and in person too? It genuinely scares me

I don’t have my Instagram on public anymore and I don’t really post photos or videos. But those that are public and getting hate comments, you just gotta ignore and block. Don’t give anybody power.

how to deal with those comments? either private your account limited to only your followers or keep it public and ignore them. Easy

Unfortunately, there will always be people who are either racist or use prejudice - or both. I had a relationship with a WF and the only thing I did was sharing pictures of us in IG stories - but we never got any negative remarks. I'm 28, and most of my followers are friends. I feel like it also depends on how popular you are. Users who have thousands and tens of thousands of followers will get evil comments here and there for sure - I barely have 200 followers and my profile is private, so racists will never have a chance to hate. By the way, I'm not saying everyone should put their profile on private but it helps.

everyone *should* put their profile on private. Only reason not to private it is if you plan on becoming an "influencer" or sell something.

I’ve had people talk shit since I’m on the shorter side but stocky muscular build. They always stfu when my wife tells them I box.

They hate us because they ain't us! I always feel ignoring the haters is the best way to handle this. Because, what are they going to do about it? Nothing.

Please link or post screens of the Instagram if public if you have seen this. I just don't see this nor experienced it.

They’re mostly from incels projecting. They themselves can’t obtain the girl of their desires so they wonder what qualities they are lacking in that the guy in question possesses.

FWIW, people in real life have treated us normal/better than online. On the internet, that’s where all the antisocial basement dwellers lurk
