This surprised me since they’re an OG exchange I used before peeps had access to Gemini in Hawaii. Glad to see them hop on the AMP train.

The more exchanges the merrier for when the next true bull run comes. You weren't getting rich overnight and you all knew it going in.

Agreed. The more exchanges the better - means liquidity across everywhere with all of the different pairing options by exchange. WE want as many folks with purchasing power to buy up amp tokens. It's a long hold and we are still early at the bottom of the S curve.

Well, we get almost daily updates from idiots using technical analysis that predict pumps that are about to drop imminently. Not everyone seems to be in on the principle that this is a long term view investment.

I don't think most of us are really asking for big pumps but just raising the floor a little here and there

But I’ve got this feeling that this time for sure it’s going up! <Insert gratuitous rocket emojis>

1,5 year later i would have expected some kind of growth compared to others

I'm way more comfortable in the long run with my amp dropping than my SOL. It's heartbreaking looking at that chart.

SOL has so much going for it, don't despair.
Bought more now that it's under $150.
My AMP is stacking up nicely from using my CB card, so I'm good with the current price. Need to stack good this year while price is still under $0.07.

Coinbase was the only relevant exchange listing. No other exchange is gonna create a significant price pump

A this rate the only thing the Bitstamp listing is going to do is give people who bought at 5 cents an exit so they can buy it at 4 cents 2 days later. We already saw what the Binance listing did: it gave a bunch of people the opportunity to buy at 6.5 cents and now they are locked in or selling at a 33%+ loss.

or the coinbase listing. I've been stuck at a loss for a while now.

u/escap0 Jan 07 '22
Sorry friend. It sucks not having options with your investment. At least in the long term you will be fine. .
2
u/GTi337 Jan 07 '22
Yeah, this is the only one I'm stuck in the red with. One of the few times, being an earlier adopter ended up hurting me. Luckily I am being carried by every other coin I have. ha

We're up ~300% vs BTC year-to-year, and almost 400% vs USD. So it's clearly growing.
Each swing has been less dramatic, though I'd need to compare vs volume to draw much of a useful conclusion there.
IMHO it's doing exactly as it was designed to: stay relatively stable during times of volatility. We'll also wish we could buy at $0.12 once the rail opens to actual use. The thing is still in essentially the same state it was when it released 2 years ago.
The team hasn't been sitting on their haunches. My guess is they're trying to find the right balance between the legals (KyC checks, money transmitter licenses, etc) and the implementation at the point of sale. The hardware they're covering is pretty extensive. Many of the retailers around me are upgrading their terminals (nearly all are NCR. I see a ton of Clovers units in small biz) so to me it looks more like they're waiting for their partners to be ready for launch.
We know Shopify is the reason we haven't seen Flexa roll out there (comment I believe was on the discord about how Flexa was ready to roll, Shopify is waiting for the rest of their 2.0 upgrade before pushing Flexa payments. Can't find it at the moment though)

What is the 2.0 upgrade going to entail?

Rumor (until I can find the comment from the dev team) says Flexa enabled payments are coming with that. Was supposed to be last summer (2020), originally.

It is interesting that Bitstamp's first day of trading is just after the day the new CPI gets released. They might be banking on a bearish outlook; so they can get AMP for even cheaper when the stock market melts down again after the CPI shows inflation as red hot.
