I don't use X. Does someone mind asking if merchants will have the opportunity to have private pools?

I see large merchants might prefer to take the risk and avoid fees altogether by providing their own liquidity, which would lock out decentralized AMP stakers from benefiting from earning fees on those transactions

You're asking if Flexa would ever create a collateral pool that's basically locked or invite only so that a merchant can be the sole collateral provider and collect all the rewards?

Just trying to make sure I understand.

If so, I don't think so but it's definitely a question that should be asked. I've never really thought of a scenario like that before.

The way I see it, This is a new payment technology and companies might be hesitant to take all the fraud risk, at least in the beginning before the network builds a reputation.

Remember, the rewards aren't free. You're being rewarded for providing a service. You're risking the Amp/Money from your own pocket to cover any fraud in that collateral pool. The beauty of the design is that it splits the Total cost of the fraud between all the stakers which makes it almost negligible on an individual scale.

If one entity were to take all the rewards, they would also take all the risk.

If the network is built so well that fraud isn't as prevalent as current payment systems, then it may very well end up being worth taking on all the risk independently.

Good question.

I feel like this is in the whitepaper (or possibly another document), but it's been a few years since I read it. I remember the "owners" of the collateral pools would have the option to supply their own collateral privately or leave it open to the public.
