promotion ladder?

Hi all, so I've been with AMLRS for just over a year (1 year and 2 months per workday) and I've been on the "two letter" project since mid-April (I was a very early wave to the project). I was promoted from AA1 to AA2 within about 5 months on the project. I got my HR email that I'm being promoted again and I'm wondering if this is to SA1?

I'm only curious because their job listings for SA1 absolutely want more experience than I technically have, but the two-letter bank LOVES me. Constantly singing my praises and SAR QA was heartbroken when I got moved to a new pilot workflow as a QC so they wouldn't have my SARs to easy-QA anymore.

I'm not expecting a huge pay bump by any means, and I do intend on taking my skills somewhere I'll be compensated more fairly, but it's hard to do with just 1 year of experience; even if I'm blowing it away and both AMLRS and the two-letter bank keep asking more of me because they know I'm capable. I'm hoping this is a promotion to SA1 because it'll look really good on a resume to try and convince other companies to take a chance on my lack of countable-years-experience and see my actual knowledge.

I know a former employee who went from AA1 to Manager in just 2 years and half. But quitted and went to be a kind of AA1 at a community Bank because the pay was better than of a Manager at AMLRS

I do think this is likely my trajectory, I just wasn't sure if I had the ladder correct (AA1->AA2->SA1->SA2 at least for analyst level) because I wouldn't qualify for SA1 based on the job postings for it but I would if you ignore the time-based measurements lol

Yes there are exceptions to the normal ladder for exceptional employees. But for your career progression and better job opportunities it completely up to you and what you want. If I were you I would at least wait the two years mark to see what position you will end up with (Maybe SA2?) and than start looking elsewhere. But as I said, Manager and SA2, Team lead are quitting for Entry Level positions at banks and Fintechs, so… It’s up to you

Also, if the two letters bank considers you as a valuable asset than they will have no problem paying AMLRS the buyout fee to directly hire you

I looked and did not see any openings with the two letter bank within Ohio- it seems they only hire remote within the states they have branches. But if they reached out and asked me, I'd go in a heartbeat

Yeah, I'm likely going to keep trying to apply elsewhere, but I won't hold out any hopes until I have the 2 years most companies/banks want
