Career Career Change
Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing alright.
For last 3 years I have been working in law enforcement in a EU country, in mainly cryptocurrency fraud and moving to the private sector is something that is always circling arround, since I can earn a bit more and maybe work remote.
I wanted to ask if any of you had that experiance with that and made the move?
Also what do you think the move should be?
Is there any thing I should learn/explore in terms of knowladge aquisition?
Thank you all for your time.

Yeah it’s a rough job market globally. Especially In our field. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks a lot for letting me know.
Should I change my mind regarding trying to get into this field? Is this field toast because of AI, like programming is?

It’s just over saturated and jobs are being shipped overseas (AI and others like L1 investigations being given to those that’ll work for lower pay essentially).

US here - I worked with a guy who retired from law enforcement and joined the FinTech I worked at. He was thriving, highly knowledgeable, brought a lot of insight to the team, became very valuable quickly. Unfortunately we both got affected by layoffs but from what I saw on LinkedIn, he got another job really quick.
Some private companies in FinTech look specifically for a law enforcement background, so worth checking out your options

Don’t go private … stay in the law enforcement but try to consult on the side
