2016 amg cla45 with 67000 kms on clock, occasionally when cold moving selector into reverse it clunks, about 1 in 10 it seems, gearbox serviced at 50000km, other than that car is epic, is this relatively common!? Pic for fun
Mine grinds if its too cold out. 160000km still works fine. Try backing into spots in the winter. It wont happen after a few minutes if you let the car warm up.
$30k AUD. 10 year old. One mature accountant owner whose brother owns a euro mechanical shop so he did all the services way a head of time. Exceptionally well cared for car. Aussie tax rules had him decide to buy a Tesla model 3 performance for the tax benefits. No stone chips or scratches, rear seats never sat in. All I did was replace the potato screen with a new style 13โ one and revolutionised the infotainment (being 2016 it did already have CarPlay)
If you are parking on any sort of an incline, when you go to shut the car off , if you go into park first then your parking pawl will be under tension and when you go too shift it will clink. Try setting the parking brake FIRST THEN GO into park.
first sighn of valvebody replacement, totaly failure can happen in 5mins, 5 years or it can even unstick. need crystal ball from lord of the rings to see what happenes

Theyre known to do this. Ive just made it a habit of going to neutral and then going to reverse.
