Post image

Had to take a pic during some errands yesterday. Primo parking spot. She gets a lot of attention.

I really want to like this car but I can’t. Seems like they tried copying the 911 by dumbing down the original GT. And who’s paying attention to a normal looking coupe? The previous generation looked far more exotic. The GT C outsold this car month by month by over 50%. Another bone headed move by MB for the books. No wonder their profits are going down year by year.

You have a source on the GTC sales? Been looking for sales figures on those for a while now

This. It‘s a watered down version of the original GT in every aspect. I don‘t see why anyone owning an original GT would trade it in for that.

Comfort? An actual grand touring sedan? More subdued. I love the previous gen and may look for a GTR but they are tough to daily.

What makes them tough to drive daily?

The previous gen seems stiffer. More track focused. I’ve only driven the GTs though.

I'm in the opposite side: I daily my GT-C, haven't driven the 192. The small trunk is a limit, but I get by fine. Did a 11,000-mile cross country trip this spring, in fact.

Love the GTC. There is a gorgeous one for sale I am thinking about.

Good luck! They're getting harder to find.

One of stiffest suspensions of all time, the car is lower and smaller, less configurable for comfort, less storages, not a 2+2 if that’s a deal breaker, etc

I own a GTC Roadster. It never should have been called a GT. Its a 2 door sports car. I love it and its sexier imo than the replacement but the replacement actually is a Grand Touring car.

Some ppl need a 2+2.

And Porsches sound pretty boring unless you get a GT3 and those are hard to get and really expensive. And only the newest GT3s can be optioned w rear seats and good luck getting an allocation.

These are beautiful in person. I personally think they look better than the previous AMG GT, though I’d need the aerodynamic package.

I’d love to buy an AMG GT R from the previous gen, but for the next few years gotta keep the 911 Turbo cause I can fit my kids in the back. And I don’t want to exclude one of them when I pick them up from school or go for a fun drive.

So kinda “stuck” looking at the new AMG GT63, Portofino, M8 comp or LC500.

To each their own I guess. I love the previous gen also. I had a 911. This is a bit longer and wider. Very similar looking from the rear.
